The Phantom's Journey (here
) is a Danny Phantom and Bleach crossover, sequel to the earlier three-chapter story The Chase.
The Phantom's Journey contains examples of:
- Bad Powers, Good People:
- Danny's Shikai harnesses green flames, apparently connected to Pariah Dark, that can burn at the very soul of a target, yet he's still a hero.
- Dani's Shikai takes the form of a pair of gloves that can cause anything they touch to decay. Understandably, Dani doesn't want to use these powers in combat much, though her Zanpakuto spirit helps her realize that she can do things like destroying Skulker's armor.
- Heinz Hybrid: In addition to being half-ghost, since Jack and Maddie are a Shinigami and Quincy respectively, Danny and Dani inherited both Soul Reaper and Quincy powers like Ichigo did.
- Monster Progenitor: Apparently Ghost Zone ghosts come into being when a piece of Pariah Dark's power enters a spirit, similar to Yhwach and the Quincy.
- Noodle Incident: Dani briefly ended up in the world of Death Note at one point.
- Obfuscating Stupidity: Jack and Maddie knew that Danny was Phantom from the beginning, they just pretended otherwise.
- Power Gives You Wings: Danny's Bankai gives him a set of wings, one made of ice like Toshiro's and one made of fire.
- Sinister Scythe: Danny's Shikai takes the form of a scythe.
- Shout-Out:
- After Jack drops Danny off at school, he drives away playing the Ghostbusters theme.
- Dani briefly ended up in the world of Death Note at one point.
- Thinking Up Portals: Danny's Shikai has the ability to create portals that can be used to travel between dimensions. They're even powerful enough to bypass the barrier over the Seiretei or even theoretically travel to Hell.
- Villain Team-Up: Vlad joins forces with Jin for most of the Bount arc.
