In an alternate version of Weirdmageddon, the roles of the Stans and the Mystery Twins are swapped, leaving Dipper to have to sacrifice his mind to defeat Bill. However, using the memory gun on a developing brain turns out to have much different consequences then previously thought.

- Actually Pretty Funny: When asked his theories about the mysterious time bubble which has trapped all the residents within the town’s borders, Ford can only reply that he has “various viable hypotheses”, which Stan tells Wendy is what scientists say when they “don’t know squat”.Ford had a good laugh at that, and a much needed one too. He hadn’t laughed that hard in years, barring the many times he’d been drunk out of his mind on alien booze, at which point even the slightest thing seemed funny.
- Aesop Amnesia: An in-universe example. After spending much of season 2 learning to move on from his crush on Wendy, Dipper immediately regains it after he loses his memory.
- For Want Of A Nail: Dipper’s size-changing flashlight breaks during the assault on the fearamid. This leads to Stan and Ford having to run off and distract Bill while Dipper and Mabel have to decide to make the sacrifice.
- My God, What Have I Done?: Dipper reacts like this after he nearly kills Mabel before he begins regaining his memories.
- Platonic Declaration of Love: the first chapter ends with several of these between Dipper and Mabel in the moments before the sacrifice.
- Shipper on Deck: Mabel quickly becomes one for Dipper and Pacifica after she moves in to the Mystery Shack.
