Fanfic / The Hero in a Witch's World

Go To

The Hero in a Witch's World is a crossover fic between The Owl House and My Hero Academia, where after the Sludge Villain incident a jerk uses his Quirk on Izuku, sending him to the Void Between the Worlds. Luckily, he manages to stumble onto Eda's portal and escape... right as Luz is entering the Isles for the first time.

  • The Cavalry Arrives Late: All Might noticed what the man trying to use his Quirk on Izuku was doing, but arrived just a few seconds to late to stop it.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: While part of the reason that the guy decided to use his Quirk on Izuku specifically is implied to be Fantastic Racism from overhearing that he was Quirkless, the rest of it is because Izuku accidentally bumped into him and made him spill his coffee. Considering that even he had no idea where the stuff his Quirk transported went, and that Izuku might have been stuck permanently in the In-Between Realm if he hadn't stumbled onto Eda's portal, it was quite the dick move.
  • Doom Magnet: Izuku as in canon, which he mentally lampshades when he's grabbed by the man who ends him to the In-Between Realm, wondering what his luck must be that he's ended up in a villain's clutches three times in just one afternoon.
  • Fantastic Racism: The story explicitly has anti-Quirkless discrimination as a topic. For instance, the man who used his Quirk to send Izuku to the In-Between Realm is implied to have chosen him as a guinea pig partially because he'd overheard that Izuku was Quirkless and assumed that no one would miss him.
  • For Want Of A Nail: The story diverges from canon on the MHA side when a man decides to test where his Quirk will send Izuku shortly after the Sludge Villain incident.
  • Void Between the Worlds: The Quirk used on Izuku sends anything affected by it to the In-Between Realm. Izuku only manages to escape because he manages to spot Eda's portal and make his way to it, coming through to the Boiling Isles just after Luz did.
