Ride The AI Dungeon
by ETNMystic is an second-person perspective Ride the Cyclone fanfic utilizing the website AI Dungeon. The story follows the basic structure of the show beginning from when they all died; however there are a few divergences; the inclusion of the reader as well as 2 characters that were originally from the canon, but ultimately cut. Along with that, there is currently one new musical number.
The story in general provides examples of:
- Canon Immigrant: Hank and Astrid are actually two characters who were originally in Ride the Cyclone while it was going through changes and reworks.
- Dead to Begin With: It's no spoiler that all nine of them are dead.
- Five Stages of Grief: A common theory in the canon is that each one represents a stage of grief, with Jane Doe being Death.
- Pride Before a Fall: Also in the canon; the message of "What the World Needs" is essentially Ocean flaunting about her superiority and calling the others losers, then immediately gets told by Karnak that the vote to bring someone back to life has to be unanimous. This is only further rubbed in her face by her cousin Astrid.
- Second-Person Narration: AI Dungeon is programmed to put the stories in second-person perspective, prompting the addition of the reader as a currently-unnamed choir member.
- Witch Hunt: Thanks to the AI; the reader creates a sudden accusation of Astrid being a vampire due to her habit of biting Ocean. Of course she continuously denies the claim.
