Things were dire for the people of Konoha as the vile Nine-Tailed Beast rampaged on their lands. However, just as the people were losing hope, a giant green beast appeared and battled the Nine-Tails at even grounds.
When the battle was over, both the beings were sealed into two children. Years passed, the two children had grown. Naruto, the boy possessing Kodama the Great Protector of Konoha and Kory, the girl possessing the power of the Nine-Tailed Fox.

- Adaptational Early Appearance:
- Chojuro made his appearance way later in the "Five Kage Summit" arc in the manga and in the Naruto Shippiudden anime. He made his debut in the Land of Waves arc.
- Kisame also appears in that arc in contrasts to his debut in the Konoha Crush arc.
- Adaptational Personality Change: Naruto is no longer pursuing to become the Hokage due to not having his All the Other Reindeer status in canon that motivated him.
- Adaptational Superpower Change: Naruto would not possess the power of the Tailed Beast, Kurama but instead, possessing the powers of Kodama aka Swamp Thing including getting Wood Release.
- All the Other Reindeer: Everyone in Konoha fear Kory for having the Nine-Tailed sealed inside her. Naruto, on the other hand has less hostility compared to Kory.
- Big Damn Heroes: The Nine-Tailed Fox's assault on Konoha is halted by Kodama.
- Bullying the Dragon: The bullies that tried to assault Kory learn the hard way not to mess with her.

- Mistaken for Related: Having red hair, Kory is thought to be a member of the Uzumaki family. However, DNA testing confirms she isn't.
- Nature Lover: Naruto. He grows them on his windowsill, walkthrough grass fields and sleeping on trees.
- Nothing Personal: Zabuza says this to Kori after killing Naruto. One crushed heart later...Kori: It was personal to me you son of a bitch.
- Point of Divergence:
- The Nine-Tailed Fox's attack on Konoha resulted in the deaths of the Haruno family, denying Sakura's birth.
- The shinobi would sealed the Kodama into Naruto while they sealed the Nine-Tailed Fox into Kory.
- Chojuro of the Seven Ninja intervened at the Land of Waves to go after Zabuza.
- Sealed Inside a Person-Shaped Can: Naruto possesses the Kodama, the ancient protector of Konoha. As for Kory, the poor girl is the one that possesses the Nine-Tailed Fox.
- Team Member in the Adaptation: Due to Sakura not existing, Kory takes her place as a member of Team 7.
- Winged Humanoid: Sasuke possesses wings which he inherited from his mother. Though to Sasuke's dismay, his wings are black rather than them being like his mother's beautiful white wings.
