- Adaptational Alternate Ending: The beginning of the fic directly adapts the closing exchanges between Bart and Laura from the original Rock, Paper, Sister Tapped Out event, up to the point Laura calls Bart a 'terrible stalker'. From this moment onwards, the canon diverges with Bart asking Laura what happened between them and the remainder of the fic focuses on the two coming to an understanding at last and repairing their friendship, where as in the original there is no such resolution, leaving the two's relationship on an audience alienating Downer Ending that has not been addressed in the expanded media in over a decade
- Big, Stupid Doodoo-Head: Laura refers to Bart as 'Barf' at one point, an unimpressed Bart notes that this is a 'Kindergarten entry' insult
- Credit Card Plot: When Laura announces she'll treat Bart to an ice cream, Bart chooses an expensive one. When Laura points out she can't afford it, Bart jokes that if she had a Capital One card she could afford the ritz, Laura however tells Bart she has no intention of paying for it, and insists he, as a ''Jetblue' credit card user, use his instead.
- Don't Tell Mama: After admitting she still likes Bart, Laura insists that he not reveal this to her mom
- Feuding Families: Laura reveals her mother Ruth holds a grudge against Homer for the events of The Movie and instructed her daughter not to hang out with Bart
- Misery Builds Character: When Bart notes that Laura is hurling a childish barb in his direction, Laura insists she's only doing it for this reason
- We Used to Be Friends: Bart gets the conversation rolling by reminding Laura he and her used to be 'cool'
