- Break the Cutie: Grizz has been through a lot in the fanfic, including losing his mother and being brought back to the forest by Stanley.
- Downer Ending: Stanley leaving Grizz in the forest at the end.
- Parental Abandonment: Implied to have happened to Grizz. Stanley does this to Grizz at the end of the story
- Parental Substitute: Stanley becomes this for Grizz.
