Chris brings back 22 teens from past seasons that haven't won a season yet, based on the US rankings (except Season 4), and pits the team of originals (from across the first three seasons) against the the team of the latest losers (from Revenge of the Island).
The teams are:
- Old Losers: Katie, Sadie, Eva, Geoff, Trent, Justin, Beth, Ezekiel, Noah, Tyler, Bridgette
- New Losers: Staci, Dakota, B, Dawn, Sam, Brick, Anne Maria, Mike, Jo, Scott, Zoey

Tropes
- Ascended Extra: A major point of the fic is that it allows various early eliminations in canon to get more focus here, such as Eva, Ezekiel, Dawn and B.
- Author Avatar: The author has a recurring OC by the name of Christopher, who essentially acts as a fictional representation of himself.
- Baseball Episode: The very first challenge of the fic is a baseball game with improbable wind conditions, sponge balls and plastic bats.
- Big Bad: Justin takes on the role of the most villainous contestant after Jo and Scott are eliminated, just as he tried to be in Action.
- The Bus Came Back: After being eliminated, Brick and Trent get to return to the competition after managing to win their respective Aftermath challenges. Cody also gets to join the competition via popularity vote.
- The Cameo: All the non-competing campers from Island, World Tour and Revenge of the Island get to make guest appearances for certain challenges.
- Dead Fic: The fic hasn't been updated since 2015.
- Gender-Equal Ensemble: Chris invokes this with the starting cast, which consists of eleven males and eleven females. The main reason he chose Beth and Bridgette to compete despite Beth being a former finalist and Bridgette competing in the first three seasons despite only making it to the top ten once was to have an equal cast.
- Locked into Strangeness: Dakota still has green hair, among other physical traits, from her time as the monstrous Dakotazoid. These traits fade as she regains full humanity.
- Shrinking Violet: Ezekiel is noticeably more timid and prone to hiding under his toque as a result of his feral incident in World Tour.
- Rage Breaking Point: When Mike comes to believe Zoey only likes him for his alter egos instead of for himself, he becomes so profoundly angry that an evil, previously-unseen alter ego by the name of Mal emerges.
- Shout-Out: The Hershey Chocolate Factory challenge in episode 5 is an obvious reference to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
- Token Evil Teammate: Justin and Scott are only out for themselves, and are willing to use their other teammates' feelings for them (Sadie for Justin, Anne Maria for Scott) to win by any means necessary.
