[The Story of Ferb and Vanessa] contains examples of:
- Affectionate Nickname: Ferb's father refers to him as "old chap", primarily when he was very young.
- Phineas and Isabella's son Isaac calls Ferb and Vanessa's daughter Felicia "Fleece" due to that being all he could say of her name when they were toddlers and it sticking.
- Demoted to Extra: Most characters who aren't Ferb and Vanessa tend to have this happen to them to varying degrees depending on the story. Ironically, despite the series title, this sometimes happens to Ferb and Vanessa, with the story focusing on other people.
- Embarrassing Middle Name: Ferb and Vanessa both feel they have one though Ferb's (revealed to be Evelyn in "Ferb's Middle Name") is the only one to really count.Ferb: I love my father, but sometimes I wish he wasn't quite so fond of antiques.
- Evil-Detecting Baby: Ambrose and Candace's son Fred, normally a happy baby who loves people, starts wailing when he sees Roger Doofenschmirtz. Given what happens in "The Doonkelberry Revolution", it's this trope.
- Evil-Detecting Dog: Trixie, a dog Ambrose takes in, develops a strong dislike for Roger Doofenschmirtz, even savaging the stuffed cat he gives Fred. Given what happens in "The Doonkelberry Revolution", it's this trope.
- Evil Uncle: To everyone's surprise, Roger Doofenschmirtz ultimately is one.
- Gosh Darn It to Heck!: "It's Not Just the Toothpaste" shows Ferb to be this trope (at least with American English, according to him) and Vanessa finds it very endearing and attractive.
- Generation Xerox: Mostly averted with the sole exception being Tom Flynn who apparently should have been named Phineas 2.0
- Ironic Middle Name: Vanessa's is Joy; she's not fond of the irony.
- Like Mother, Like Daughter: Like her mother before her, Candace meets a guy, develops strong feelings for him, regretfully parts ways with him as a mutual decision, finds another man she loves, marries him, has a daughter and son with him, ends up losing him, finds her first love after being single a while, discovers he's a single father with a son, marries him and watches their sons become inseparable best friends.
- Felicia has her mother's love of chocolate anything while her brother Victor shares their father's terror of needles and shots.
- Trademark Favorite Food: Ferb's are cherry anything, chicken fried steak at Goldie's and spray cheese. Vanessa's is anything chocolate and apple juice boxes, the former being shared by her daughter.
- X Treme Kool Letterz: Ferb's strong dislike for these is a minor Running Gag; it's also tied to why he dislikes Slushy Dawg.
- Why Did It Have To Be Needles?: Ferb is terrified of needles as is his son Victor.
