Nutsy is a Final Fantasy Tactics Advance fanfic by Herr Wozzeck that looks at events of the game and the world of Ivalice from the eyes of Marche's clan. It follows a cast of 25 characters as they live out their days in clan Nutsy, with a few glimpses into the game's storyline as well.
The format is odd; it consists of a multitude of interconnected oneshots that are arranged into a few parts that all relate to a certain aspect of the clan's life.
This fanfic contains the following examples of:
- Adaptation Expansion: It's pretty much the world of Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. Only, it also throws in things concerning anything that pertain to whatever culture of Ivalice could be like.
- Anachronic Order: Nutsy is divided into two parts as of now (it will eventually expand to six according to
Word of God). Each part starts at around the same place and goes in chronological order, but it skips over anything not related to what the given part of the story is about. - Badass Preacher: Ocon, who gets the power of the totemas on his side.
- Cluster F-Bomb: Believe it or not. Perhaps the only thing in the fic that makes the use of this trope more jarring is the fact that it's typically a moogle character that gets them.
- Deconstruction: The world of Ivalice gets this at a few points.
- Exactly What It Says on the Tin: The clan is named Nutsy, after all.
- Funetik Aksent: Present in any dialogue of the bangaa characters.
- Also holds true to a certain extent for Galor.
- Jerkass: Nusratt. Who's a moogle. Who brings about the Cluster F-Bomb example above.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Smyth. He's a ruthless gladiator who would rather cut you up in the arena and engages in a lot of vice. He also gives
Marche a hug in the Informant prompt. - Non-Idle Rich: Nikolai.
- Ragtag Bunch of Misfits: Oh dear lord. We have a priest, a prince of one of Ivalice's most powerful families, a juggler and his twin brother, a gritty gladiator, two former criminals, a thief boy from the streets, and some kid from another world. And that's only nine of the 24 clan members that are in Nutsy at any one given time.
- Reign of Terror: Sweeps upon Ivalice once the hunt for Marche gets especially intense.
- Shown Their Work: The world of Ivalice was constructed from all those little side missions and dispatch missions that most people wouldn't really give a shit about otherwise.
