Code Prime - R1: Rebellion
With two different major powers that are evil yet have some virtues, this is bound to happen in Code Prime.Holy Britannian Empire
- While they couldn't care less for those not of their national heritage, Britannians for the most part will balk at the idea of willingly sacrificing their own.
- A downplayed version with Cornelia in Chapter 19. While she doesn't do anything to stop Airachnid from killing in the ghettos since her victims are Japanese people/Elevens, she is still horrified and sickened by the mutilated states of the ex-Decepticon's victims. Later played straight in Chapter 32. While she opposes Euphemia's decision to create the Special Administrative Zone of Japan, she is ultimately angered and disgusted when she learns that Megatron used the SAZ to incite a massacre by kidnapping Euphie and using a Pretender in her image to carry out the massacre.
- Schneizel may be willing to sacrifice his soldiers and family members to carry out his plans, and he may be willing to ally with the Decepticons to do so, but even he's in complete shock at the amount of death Megatron causes at the SAZ.
- Likewise, Nonette, Gino, and Monica are horrified by the SAZ Massacre, with Gino even trying to stop Vehicon troopers from shooting on civilians, and Monica calling the massacre insanity.
- In R2, Guilford is a Britannian, but during the plan to revolt and free the slaves from Thunderhoof's Energon mine, even he shows frustration when two of the collaborators (Mrs. Ashford and Mrs. Stadtfeld) still had discriminatory views regarding 'the Elevens'. Especially since all of the slaves include civilians, former rebels, and former soldiers of the fallen Britannian Empire.
Decepticons
- For all their evil, the Decepticons are extremely meritocratic and are willing to allow anyone into their ranks regardless of heritage, social status, or even species, so long as they can contribute to their cause. They are also completely upfront about their decadence and dislike Britannia's sanctimoniousness.
- Megatron himself has a few standards of his own. In Chapter 29, he shows annoyance over Suzaku's inability to accept responsibility for his failures and shortcomings, choosing to pin the blame on the Autobots and Black Knights. And in Chapter 32, Megatron, and even Shockwave, shoot down Skywarp's suggestion of bringing Luciano Bradley into the Decepticon ranks, noting that the similarities between the Vampire of Britannia and Airachnid in terms of sadistic tendencies, would make him unpredictable and possibly cause dissension in the ranks.
- A surprising one for Airachnid of all people, but she does seem annoyed over the fact that the Britannians blame the Japanese for the (supposed) deaths of Lelouch and Nunnally, when it was Britannia themselves that put them in that situation when Charles exiled them, and then ordered the invasion despite knowing they would be killed. She brings this up to Cornelia in Chapter 22, with Cornelia, predictably, putting the blame on the Japanese.
- Being a Decepticon who possesses a strong sense of honor and reasoning, Dreadwing ends up having many examples of this trope.
- The Shinjuku Massacre, where he takes a moment of silence to honor Clovis's victims.
- Airachnid in general.
- He does not agree with Britannia's discrimination policies and is disgusted with the Purebloods' actions in framing Suzaku for Clovis's death.
- Cornelia's decision to reenact the Shinjuku Massacre in Saitama does not sit well with him.
- He will never mock someone who lost a sibling, having gone through the same pain himself with losing Skyquake.
- While he does consider Suzaku a friend, even he can't hide his shock and anger over Suzaku killing his own father.
- He is shocked in Chapter 30 when he learns that Megatron not only destroyed Cybertron with Dark Energon but also subjected Suzaku to the Cortical Psychic Patch. This leads to him switching his loyalty from the Decepticons to Euphemia.
- In Chapter 32, he is horrified by the SAZ Massacre, much like Schneizel, Gino, Monica, and Nonette. He is also enraged when he learns that Megatron carried out the massacre by using a Pretender impersonating a kidnapped Euphemia. This is the final straw for Dreadwing, as he chooses to join the Autobots and Black Knights with Suzaku.
- Chapter 33 reveals that Skyquake tried to stop Megatron from poisoning Cybertron with Dark Energon, knowing that it would destroy the planet. He paid for it with his life.
- Even Knock Out expresses some discomfort at the massacre, despite supporting it.
- Sky-Byte may be a Decepticon, but he doesn't like to kill.
- In chapter 3, he tells the Autobots and Black Knights where the human slaves are hidden, saying that he's a shark of word and that he can't blame them for being suspicious about it considering other Decepticons would use them as a trap, and even says that they can help themselves to any Energon they want from the mine.
- Even the other Decepticons find Quillfire and Springload's behavior annoying, especially the latter. As Blitzwing puts it, when he thinks that someone is insane, you know that they're insane.
- At least in regards to humans, the Decepticons only attack and destroy targets that have actual value - they won't needlessly destroy areas of cultural significance just for the sake of demoralizing those they have conquered.
Other
- It's clear Mao thinks that Lelouch seeing Optimus like a father figure is ridiculous to him, but after what he glimpsed from Lelouch's mind of what Charles Zi Britannia is like, he doesn't blame him for trying to find a new dad.
