Closed From Dawn Until Dusk is a fictional Harem Genre Visual Novel that, as of yet, only exists in the mind of Pantheon Fefnir, until it is possibly made. This visual novel, currently, is in it's early stages, with the main characters still being made. However, there is enough finished to explain the plot efficiently.
Akarui Meisei has recently moved into a new town, and joining a new school as well. He has trouble fitting with others due to his distant and emotionless personality, as well as his inability to express himself. In order to try to make something resembling friends, he decided to create a club in the school that played tabletop role playing games. In spite of the luck he thought he would have, five people join the group: Ryu Kamura, Kiyomaro Hazakura, Asame Yura, Hitoko Yoshiki, and Rise Yamanaka.
Of course, this doesn't last too long, as it turns out that the game they prepare to play actually sucks them into the game they are playing. They quickly learn that the undead spirit of a relatively unknown tactician named Shinji Hozuki has been kidnapping people in order to test their skill against Hozuki's skills, and that all those who failed to win died in the real world (those who quit playing would also suffer that fate). Akarui and his friends are thus forced to compete in the game in order to save their lives.
There are a total of five routes in the novel: The Detective Route (in which a detective-genre role playing game is played and focuses upon the group attempting to solve the mystery), The Fantasy Route (which focuses upon a fantasy role playing game and presents Asame as the lead love interest), The Science-Fiction Route (the game played is Sci-Fi and the lead love interest is Rise), The Horror Route (focuses upon the survival horror genre and the love interest is Class Representative Setsuna Akagami), and the Truth Route (which is unlocked by completing all other routes and is the game's true ending).
Closed From Dawn Until Dark provides examples of:
- Action Girl: Technically, in the game-verse, all girls have this characteristic, but Asame is the only genuine Action Girl in the real world.
- Action Girlfriend: Again, Asame, although only in the Fantasy Route and a possible love interest in the Truth Route.
- A-Cup Angst: Hitoko Yoshiki, since some people can mistake her for a Pretty Boy.
- Alpha Bitch: Setsuna tends to act rather dismissive of those who aren't very popular...
- Lovable Alpha Bitch: ...but her attitude begins to change for the better after Akarui and his friends save her in the game world. It is later revealed that she was really unpopular for a long time, and made a great effort to change herself into a more popular person, though the popularity corrupted her.
