Ranbir Kapoor (born 28 September 1982) is an Indian actor who primarily works in Hindi-language cinema. He is the son of actors Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh. As part of the illustrious Kapoor film family, Ranbir was born into Indian cinematic royalty: Raj Kapoor was his grandfather and Shammi Kapoor and Shashi Kapoor were his uncles; actresses Karisma and Kareena Kapoor are his cousins.
After learning filmmaking and acting in New York and working as an assistant director on several films, including his father's Aa Ab Laut Chalen and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Black, Ranbir made his debut in Bhansali's Saawariya alongside fellow debutante Sonam Kapoor and Rani Mukherji. He has since become one of India's highest-paid and critically acclaimed actors, having won six Filmfare Awards.
Ranbir has been married to Alia Bhatt since 2022. The couple have a daughter.
