Ranbir Kapoor (born 28 September 1982) is an Indian actor who primarily works in Hindi-language cinema. He is the son of actors Creator/RishiKapoor and Creator/NeetuSingh. As part of the illustrious Kapoor film family, Ranbir was born into Indian cinematic royalty: Creator/RajKapoor was his grandfather and Creator/ShammiKapoor and Creator/ShashiKapoor were his uncles; actresses [[Creator/KarismaKapoor Karisma]] and Creator/KareenaKapoor are his cousins.
After learning filmmaking and acting in New York and working as an assistant director on several films, including his father's ''Aa Ab Laut Chalen'' and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's ''Film/{{Black}}'', Ranbir made his debut in Bhansali's ''Film/{{Saawariya}}'' alongside fellow debutante Creator/SonamKapoor and Creator/RaniMukherji. He has since become one of India's highest-paid and critically acclaimed actors, having won six Filmfare Awards.
Ranbir has been married to Creator/AliaBhatt since 2022. The couple have a daughter.
