Algaliarept
A five thousand-year-old demon who plays a prominent role in the series.
- Affectionate Nickname: Sort of affectionate, anyways. Ceri and Trisk both call him 'Gally,' while Rachel calls him 'Al.' Part of the reason for this is that a demon's full name grants power over them and allows them to be summoned, so it is only used in very specific circumstances.
- Fantastic Racism: He loathes elves. Understandable, as he was once enslaved by them.
- Law of Inverse Fertility: He spent centuries trying to find a way to give Ceri children and did not succeed.
- He and Trent work together and find a way for elves and demons to have viable children so that Trent and Rachel can have children, and also as a wedding gift for Ray and her demon husband.
- Our Demons Are Different
- Really 700 Years Old: He's somewhere around 5,000 years old.
- Red Eyes, Take Warning: He has creepy red eyes, with horizontal pupils like a goat.
- Slavery Is a Special Kind of Evil: He keeps familiars as slaves for thousands of years, including Ceri. He was, however, a slave himself thousands of years in the past.
- Voluntary Shapeshifting: With the help of magic, he can shapeshift into any form he chooses, a skill he uses to great effect. At various points he makes himself look like Rachel, Nick, and a giant dog, among others. He prefers to appear as a British aristocrat in a frock coat and top hat, however.
Newt
The only female demon in existence other than Rachel. She is incredibly powerful, eccentric, and an amnesiac, who is tolerated more than liked by the male demons.
- All Girls Like Ponies: She has a soft spot for horses, particularly Trent's mare Red.
- Black Eyes of Crazy: She is the only demon in existence with black eyes, and is also nuts. As Trent puts it in The Undead Pool, "That demon is certifiable."
- Black Widow: Newt kills her lovers by pulling a ley line through them. While the number is never outright stated, it is implied that she has killed a fair number of male demons this way.
- Trauma-Induced Amnesia: Newt has a very poor memory, mainly due to having been tricked into killing all her sisters.
