But no matter the conqueror, numerous turmoils continued to plague it. In the 1940s, the region was divided and conquered by Germany and Italy, who have battled for total dominance over the region since. Yet, the people of the Balkans want a different future for themselves, something brighter than the exploitation and subjugation they've faced over the last 70 years.

- Reasonable Authority Figure: Over the past decades, Mihail gradually implemented political reforms with the end goal of establishing democracy.

Bosnia was born by accident. In the 1960s, they oversaw Tito overthrowing the Italian leadership in Croatia and decided to help Italy reconquer its lost territory. They gained high levels of autonomy as a result, but were forced to remain in the Italian sphere of influence. Over the years, it became a small heaven for Muslims and a fairly stable nation. - Occupiers Out of Our Country: After the King was assassinated in the 1980s, the Italians dropped the façade of a puppet government completely and dissolved the Montenegrin government, leaving the country at the hands of the Italian military.
