Main Characters

Zeed Toven

The Hero of the story. After having defeated the Demon King Krodin, he quickly discovered that he had no other applicable skills in society and became a NEET Hikikomori.

• Chronic Hero Syndrome: When it comes down to it, Zeed cannot turn away from someone crying for help, be they a little girl who lost her mother or a dragon cursed to be a slave for a thousand years
• Genre Savvy:
• The Hero: Frequently lampshaded by other characters
• Heroes Prefer Swords: subverted and discussed. At first it is assumed, both by the reader and other characters in-universe, that Zeed is a fighter class, and in the prologue he is seen using a sword against Krodin in a fast forward of the battle. However, the first time he's seen fighting for real it's revealed his combat ability actually comes from being a mage
• Loveable Rogue: his greatest strength is that he is a master Con Man towards both his adversaries and his allies. He is nonetheless fundamentally a hero at heart that genuinely does care about his friends and ultimately does what's right
• Pragmatic Hero: Zeed is more than willing to use underhanded tactics/cheat in order to win, be it by abusing magical artifacts, exploiting loopholes in magical contracts, or attacking his enemies while they're on the toilet

Zena Stoll

Formerly one of Krodin's demon generals, as well as his adopted daughter, she initially seeks out Zeed in order to avenge her king and father before becoming his companion.

Fogue

A Red Demon and another of Krodin's generals, and a gigantic pervert. After Krodin's defeat, he is the first one to try befriending Zeed, much to his chagrin.

Roak Balchad

Krodin's top general, and eventual successor as Demon King. A skilled swordsman, as a member of the Balchad clan, and originally a hero who fought against Krodin, he eventually switched sides becoming a Fallen Hero.

Prince Ruda Katran/Dar Daru/Darian

The prince of Katran who was captured by the Demon King Krodin before the events of the story and rescued by Zeed during the prologue.

In truth, he is actually the current human form of the Black Dragon Dar Daru, a near thousand year old dragon cursed to be the guardian of the kingdom of Katran and had actually allowed themself to be captured by the Demons in a bid to end their thousand year curse.

Zeed's Associates and Familiars

Regi Rugas

The Red Dragon Lord, ruler of the Vidos Mountains, and Zeed's master. She took in Zeed when he was a kid originally as a servant before becoming his magic teacher.

Gathell Phrodine/Kal Toven

A powerful Archmage and friend/Big Brother Mentor to Zeed

Gerumun

One of the 7 Great Devils of the Underworld. Originally summoned in a attempt to Mutual Kill Zeed, after she failed to kill him he exploited several magical loopholes to force her to form a contract with him.

Sadi

A Red Salamander Fire Elemental contracted with Zeed as his familiar.

Unvid

Krodin

The demon king before the events of the story. Defeated by Zeed during the prologue.

Caryn Tuul

A high ranking member of the Demon Army and advisor to the Demon King. An illusionist who hides her true form under the disguise of an old man.

Prince Ruda's "twin" sister and the crown princess, later Queen, of the Kingdom of Katran
