Main Charecters
Gale
The main protagonist of the story. He was a fourteen-year-old human who was brought to the dragon realms but accidentally turned into a six-month old hatchling.
- Brainy Baby: Physically only an infant hatchling, but he is quite smart. Justified, as he is mentally in his teens and had been educated in school before becoming a dragon.
- Forced Transformation: Sort of. He signs a contract with a Celestial dragon, Fate, to become a dragon at the start of the story, which in turn turns him into a hatchling. However, he thought it was only a dream at the time.
- Non-Action Guy: Zigzagged: Being only an infant hatchling, Gale is unable to defend himself against many of the threats he faces and requires rescue from others. There are times, however, when his powers seem to come out, seemingly instinctively to defend him. Even then, those alone are often not enough to get him out of dangerous situations.
- The Baby of the Bunch: While mentally fourteen, he is physically only six months old and is treated accordingly, although Spyro and Cynder know he is mentally older. Interestingly, his very young psychical age seems to give him a bit more childishness than he might normally have, such as crying and teething.
Kenra
A northern dragon hatchling who meets Gale in Rena's village and befriends him. He quickly becomes a big brother figure to Gale.
- Big Brother Instinct: Becomes Gale's adoptive big brother figure and is very protective of him. He even defends him from wolves and an assailant.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Sort of. "Jerk" is pushing it, but the leopard caring for him early in the story noted him to be mischievous and hard to handle. He even is a bit rough with Rena at first. However, it quickly proves himself kind and caring to those around him once they get close to him, especially with Gale; even comforting him and protecting him despite having just met Gale.
Spyro
- Papa Wolf: Highly protective of his daughter and adoptive sons.
Cynder
- Mama Bear: Very protective of her children.
Kaali
Spyro and Cynder's daughter, who is a young, energetic hatchling.
- Cheerful Child: Oh, yes. She always seems to be upbeat.
- Children Are Innocent: Very innocent and kind to all those around her.
- Nice Guy: She is a very kind and sweet child.
Supporting Characters
Rena
A snow leopard lady who finds Galae in the mountains and looks after him.
- Cat Folk: She is a humanoid snow leopard.
- Nice Girl: She is very kind and lets both Gale and later Kendra into her home and takes care of both of them as best as she can. She did not hesitate to take Gale home the night she found him and made his stay as accommodating as possible.
- The Caretaker: Acts as one to Gale (and later Kenra) during his stay in the snow leopard village. She, however, did not fully understand the needs of a baby dragon and did not know how to feed him milk at first.
