In-Game Biography ^{Click to Show}  Leonid Brezhnev was born on December 19th, 1906 to a working-class family in Kamenskoye, Ukraine. After the Revolution, joined the Communist party's youth league in 1923 before becoming an official party member in 1929. When Nazi Germany invaded the Soviet Union in June 1941, he joined the Red Army as a commissar and rose rapidly through the ranks to become a major general during World War II. Brezhnev was promoted to the party's Central Committee in 1952 and rose to become a full member of the Politburo by 1957. By 1963, he had accended to Secretary of the Central Committee, positioning him as Khrushchev's likely successor. In 1964, Brezhnev and several other high-ranking Politburo members appealed to the Central Committee, blaming Khrushchev for economic failures, and accusing him of voluntarism and immodest behavior. After deft political maneuvering, Brezhnev had cemented his power over the USSR. Under Brezhnev's guidance, the USSR has reached the peak of its power, with victories over the United States in Vietnam to consolidating their control over the Eastern Bloc. Domestically though, while living standards have been higher than ever, it seems that stagnation and corruption have gripped the Union. As Brezhnev grows older and older and the crows of the Politburo claw at his heels, it seems uncertain whether he can last much longer.

• Emperor Scientist: Glushkov is a mathematician, the father of Information Technology in the Soviet Union, one of the founding fathers of Soviet cybernetics (as in feedback and causal processes in complex systems, not cyborgs), and is a potential leader of the USSR in the mod.
• Unwitting Instigator of Doom: The Long March, an AI that can be installed in the PRC and may nuke the entire country, was built as part of a joint Chinese-Soviet project and is based on his OGAS computer system. As such, if the Long March is created and goes haywire, he is partially responsible for the devestation of China.

• A Nazi by Any Other Name: He and his party are violent, anti-Semetic, anti-communist, far-right extremists, who want to take over Russia and then the rest of the world.
• Commie Nazis: Despite being anti-communist and far right, he also idolizes Joseph Stalin and Stalinism, and is a general in the Red Army.
• Cult: His party and its ideology is a strange mixture of a far-right political movement and a neopagan cult.
• Historical Badass Upgrade: In OTL, Petrov was a Russian Major-General and an active figure in both political and religious activities, but his party never had a wide influence and stayed as a insignificant force in Russian Politics until it's dissolution in 2007, being remembered as a very minor if excentric figure in Russian history. In EGD, not only is Petrov's political influence stronger, but he actually has a chance to take power in Russia and make his ideals a reality.
• Meaningful Name: His party doctrine, "Dead Water", comes from the name given to a magical water from Russian folklore that is said to heal the wounds of the dead. Quite the fitting name for an ideology that's essentially a cult that fashions itself after paganistic Russian doctrines.
• Politically Incorrect Villain: He is anti-Semetic, anti-Christian, and hates anything he views as Western, to the point of wanting to remove "Judeo-Christian terminology" from the Russian language.
• Word Salad Philosophy: Petrov's political platform and ideology is a bizarre mix of conspiracy theories, Russian folklore spiritualism and far-right beliefs tied together into a totalitarian, cult-like devotion.
