from early in the run (note the FREE 5000 SPIN space in Square #4), who left with a grand total of $26,545. - According to recollections, one contestant ran the board for quite a chunk of cash, which host Jim Peck claimed was around $60,000-$80,000 (which, to put into perspective, was 3-4 times ABC's then-winnings limit of $20,000). Apparently, this forced ABC to add more light patterns to the nine the show already had to prevent such a win from happening again.
