• Suguru totally shredding on the guitar in episode 8.
• Props to Renge in episode 10, who makes it quite far up the mountain for a little girl.
• Natsumi's and Renge's complicated plan to knock Suguru out of the ruler game, which required moves to force him into certain situations, and sacrificing their victory so that Hotaru gets hers.
• Renge gaining the upper hand on her older sister Hikage during their spat over New Year's cards, and getting Hikage to reluctantly accept waiting until the drawing's done to see them. Through Rapid-Fire Fisticuffs.
• When Hotaru finally builds up the courage to leap from the bridge into the water, realizing that she's enjoying her life at Asahigaoka just as much as the friends she left behind at Tokyo.
• In the manga, Hikage tags alongside Renge to mooch New Year's money from the adults. Just when she thinks that she got off scot-free, Konomi chides her, as she's too old to pull off that crap (Hikage is 15-16 years old), and guilt-trips her into surrendering the money to her juniors. This impresses Renge so much that she congratulates Konomi on how deftly she accomplished this.
