• Hale tries to frame a man who had an affair with Mrs. Roan for killing Henry by telling him that everyone will suspect and pursue him either way and that he should leave town. The man replies that he is staying put and knows better than to trust Hale, marking the first time someone outside of the crime ring is shown to recognize Hale for what he is and call him out on it.
• The moment when White and his undercover investigators gather to compare notes and reveal how much of the conspiracy they have unraveled.
