Unmarked spoilers ahead!

  • Corey does something that no one did before. He forms a bond with Michael Myers. Initially, Michael intended to kill him, but he spared him after seeing they share the same evil. The next time Corey meets Michael, he gets Michael to teach him how to kill and then goes on a little killing spree with him.
  • Corey's first kill could at least be written off as self-defense, but his assisted murder of Doug is the moment his Start of Darkness truly begins, and it's quite a powerful scene. Although he lures Doug to Michael's sewer with the intent of letting the Shape kill him, Michael's age and injuries have left him weakened and he's initially fought off, but Corey is quick to jump in and incapacitate him before begging Michael to show him how to kill. He then holds Doug in place while Michael retrieves his knife and deals the killing blow. For the first time in the franchise, Michael teams up with another person to kill, and unofficially makes Corey his protégé. The music and framing do most of the legwork here as even though Michael is long past his prime, for just a glimmer of a moment, he seems to regain some of his old power as he turns Doug into a pin cushion.
  • What does Corey do when he decides to leave town with Allison? He goes to Michael Myers, overwhelms him, and steals his mask. He then goes on a killing spree to murder those who wronged him across the movie while making it look like a Michael Myers rampage.
  • Laurie appears to be heartbroken after Allison leaves, calling in what seems to be her own suicide to 911. Corey waits outside her door in his Shape get-up when he hears a gunshot. However, he peers in to find pumpkin guts on the floor and pushes the door open further to find Laurie standing with a gun. Cue the Curb-Stomp Battle.
"Did you really think I would kill myself?"
  • The Final Battle between Michael and Laurie. Despite being weakened, Michael gives Laurie a hard fight with him savagely beating her up while Laurie shows her Combat Pragmatist fighting style to overwhelm him in a long struggle.
  • After Michael is confirmed deceased, the movie ends with all the Haddonfield citizens forming a pseudo-funeral procession, ending with Laurie sending Michael's corpse into an industrial shredder. After 44 long years of horror, Michael Myers' reign of terror is finally at an end, and the Haddonfield citizens are assured he will never come back.
    • Laurie is shown writing her memoir of her experiences concerning Michael and his killings, with one of her closing lines being about saying goodbye to her boogeyman.
