  • The accomplishments of the Hero ought to be overviewed in full, because for the time of this game's release, there was no other game that expected nearly as many individual triumphs from their protagonist: Taking up the sword on their legendary father's behalf, travelling around the world's entirety on land, sea and air, solving every kingdom's individual crisis along the way, reviving the divine bird Lamia, slaying the archfiend whom even their father never encountered and had the world at large in a vice grip thus saving their entire world — then descending into another world, forging a new version of the Infinity +1 Sword when it turned out the old one was shattered, saving the very goddess who created said world in the first place, and ultimately slaying the absurdly powerful Demon Lord who ordained all of this in the first place, thus saving a second entire world. Erdrick/Loto is a legend who most definitely lives up to the legend.
  • What suits as transportation for the Legendary Hero? Nothing short of a revived phoenix, Lamia, also known in the series as the godbird.
  • Defeating Baramos and the "Your Princess Is in Another Castle!" moment that follows.
  • Both the original and remade intros that show snippets of the hero's father Ortega during his own journey leading up to his disappearance, you don't get to see too much but that he got so far on his own speaks a lot for the character. Retroactively, having this in the family makes plenty clear where the Hero of Dragon Quest I got it from.
