Shocker During the Day ("Ohiru no Shocker-san") is a comedy manga and anime series based on the Kamen Rider Series.
It follows Super-Deformed versions of the staff of Shocker, the enemy Nebulous Evil Organisation of the Kamen Riders, and the various antics they get up to.
Tropes that appear in this work:
- Adapted Out:
- The three Shocker executives (Colonel Zol, Dr. Shinigami and Ambassador Hell) only appear in their kaijin forms as opposed to their human forms.
- General Black, the fourth evil executive in the original series, also doesn't appear, presumably because he's a Gel-Shocker member as opposed to a Shocker member.
- Adorable Evil Minions: A side effect of taking the Shocker Combatmen, who had already begun to be Played for Comedy in most of their recent appearances, and chibifying them to be adorable.
- Ascended Extra: Bee Woman was originally a regular Monster of the Week in Kamen Rider, albeit a particularly well-remembered one for being the first female monster in the series. Here she's been bumped up to be part of Shocker's main roster.
- Breakout Mook Character: The Shocker Combatmen are front and center as the main characters of this series.
- Pun-Based Title: "Ohiru no shoka" ("heat during the day").
- Villain Protagonist: It's given when you have a show starring Shocker, albeit chibified and much more comedic.
