TEG 2 Chapter 16: Grover's Got Guts

Written By: Thomas
POV: Third Person
Deaths: Annabeth(4), Grover(7)

I managed to find a posting of the entire Prayer Warriors saga, sans The Titans Strike Back and Attack of the Sphinx. While those chapters are apparently lost to the author (or the person who claims to be the author), it does mean I can finish liveblogging The Evil Gods Part 2.

Before we begin, here's a brief recap.

After defeating the Greek Gods, destroying Hogwarts and going back in time to prevent Russia from falling to Communism, the Prayer Warriors, along with some of their former enemies, return to the present, only to find that yet another traitor has infiltrated Camp Half-Blood. They set out across the US to search for any clues as to his identity, when they're not stopping to kill the author's political enemies. While a group of Prayer Warriors head to Washington in search of an informant and another drives the demons out of Boston, some Prayer Warriors get kidnapped by Jupiter, leader of the Roman Gods.

The captured Prayer Warriors- Annabeth, Grover and Jason (as far as I know, Grover shouldn't be in this group and Annabeth should be dead- again)- find themselves in a room outside of the Romans' camp. Jupiter comes in, with no hair except for his beard, and red eyes. Apparently, this scares Ebony so badly that she wishes she was never born (which is a desire usually expressed by those experiencing great despair or shame, not fear), leading to an obligatory statement that she shouldn't wish for that, lest she dishonor God by doing so.

The man demands that the Prayer Warriors kneel before him, and when Annabeth refuses, he picks her up with a Neck Lift. Annabeth begs Jesus for help, but the man says that He can't help him. The man introduces himself as Jupiter, leader of the Roman Gods, and proceeds to kill her by strangling her to death, does "naughty figs" to her corpse, and dumps her in a river without a Christian burial, a unnecessary display of cruelty that actually establishes him as a villain.

Jupiter turns to Grover, who, apparently unaware of his introducing himself to Annabeth, asks who he is, forcing Jupiter to repeat himself. Jupiter adds that he wants Grover to tell him where the Prayer Warrior base is (one has to wonder why he didn't think to ask Annabeth that before he brutally killed her), so that he can kill them all and rape their corpses because he is bisexual (to drive the point home, the author says "fuck you, Noah!"). Of course, Jupiter has sex with everything else, including animals, declaring himself "a sadistic evil bastard".

Grover clearly doesn't see any reason to help Jupiter, and so Jupiter decides to torture Grover to death by ripping out his private parts, disemboweling him (something the author points out is evil), and then feeding Grover his own guts(something the author says is so evil he can't wait to kill Jupiter off). Unfortunately, Grover is the one who dies first (again) because while God wanted to keep him alive so that he could kill Jupiter, Grover's guts were apparently sprinkled with poison.

As Jupiter says an Evil Laugh and throws Grover's body in the river, he brings out Jason, who tells Jupiter that he will make him suffer. Jupiter, unimpressed, says Percy will be the one to kill him, and brings in the Brainwashed Percy.

Next Installment: A Prayer Warrior makes an important decision and the battle moves to a new theater.
