* {{Narm}}: ''Justice and Mercy'' has the WesternAnimation/{{Animaniacs}} show up. Not as an in-joke or for a comedic set-piece, but as ''characters'' played ''completely straight''. (In this universe they're half-aliens.) ''Justice and Mercy'' isn't that good a story to begin with (what it does to several of the female characters is best left undiscussed), but this is the point where it becomes ridiculous.

* UnexpectedCharacter: In ''Friends Like These'', Kaban, Serval and Brown Rat are confronted by a giant robot. This is the ''expected'' character... The unexpected one? Only a Friend based on '''''{{Franchise/Godzilla}}'''''.
** What makes this even more epic? ''Shingoji-chan's a real Friend'', in as much as she was created for a Kemono Friends collaborative work.

Some Anvils Need To Be Dropped got cut, going to see if this fits better under An Aesop.

* SomeAnvilsNeedToBeDropped: Time and again, ''Undocumented Features'' shows us that redemption is always possible, even for those who are perilously close to the MoralEventHorizon. And often, all it takes is for the villain to choose to [[ScrewThisImOuttaHere walk away]] and [[TheAtoner try to make amends]] for their past mistakes. Moreover, {{forgiveness}} can be difficult, but being able to forgive is a good part of what makes the characters heroes. Without forgiveness, the galaxy would fall into chaos -- or perhaps not exist at all (just imagine the consequences if Gryphon and Kei hadn't forgiven each other after the Exile). And most of all, they show that redemption and forgiveness are [[RuleOfCool freakin' cool]].

Bellisarios Maxim is now a Definition Only Page. MB now needs forum approval. ZCE and not YMMV.

* BellisariosMaxim: AKA "Gryphon's Law".

* MagnificentBastard: Largo occasionally, Akio almost constantly
* SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome: Many, many, ''many''.

* UltimateShowdownOfUltimateDestiny: Fortress Maximus vs. Surtur. Imperial Star Destroyer vs. the Macross. The Big O vs. an Evangelion. The list goes on and on. Got a favorite? It's probably here somewhere. Or will be.

* HoYay: Gryphon and Zoner. A lot. For years. To the point where Zoner (the writer, not the character) was surprised at just how much slashfic there was about the pair of them

* GodModeSue: Gryphon, Gryphon, Gryphon. This particular Author Insertion is immortal, superbly skilled with just about any weapon you care to name, plays guitar with two highly popular bands, can cut anything in half with a sword, can pull power armor out of {{hammerspace}}, is a master designer of spaceships, and sleeps around with multiple hot anime chicks, including his own best friend's girl at one point. In addition, he previously was in charge of the galaxy's most powerful military force, and has 'only' stepped back to commanding the galaxy's most powerful law enforcement organization.
** He gets a pass for mostly only showing up in "harried manager" or "comforting father" modes in stories not specifically about developing his character.
** At least he started with immortality, so he could spend a few centuries building that list. Yes, even the multiple hot anime chicks.

* {{Wangst}}: The main weakness of the early Core stories, especially Kei and Yuri's disappearance in ''[=UF1=]'', most of the plot of ''[=UF2=]: The Long Road'' that resulted in the entire cast becoming immortal, and the downfall of the WDF in ''[=UF3=]: Out in the Cold''.

* * RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap: As one fan once said, "''UF is where characters go to become awesome again after their original writers forget how to treat them right.''" This is a significant reason for the existence of the Legacy of Korra arc in Future Imperfect. If Gryphon's episode commentary in the Eyrie forums is any indicator, he felt the need to try to get ''the show itself'' out of the heap.

unfortunate implications need citations

* UnfortunateImplications: This one tends to start flame wars, but it has ''not'' escaped people's attention how many of the female characters tend to end up judged by who they marry and who they give birth to as opposed to their other qualities...

Knock it off. Take it to the discussion page.

** Sorry, but Kei Morgan can't hear you over the sound of how awesome she is. Okay, seriously now: a lot of this is probably the consequence of how many of the early {{self insert|fic}}s are male. There's no such effect at all on later {{author avatar}}s, like Janice, Juniper, or Alaia (who's also Anne Cross, indirectly). Or Anthy even, who has undergone boatloads of character development since she left Ohtori Academy. Since the pre-FI era story is about the authors more than the characters with whom they interact, focusing on the main characters is to be expected; if you want to know more about Kei and Yuri's WWWA days, you can just watch ''LightNovel/DirtyPair''. So, um, examples please?
*** "Justice and Mercy", full stop.
**** Okay, let's try again. An example that isn't TwoWordsObviousTrope[=/=]ZeroContextExample?

I\'m going to assume you aren\'t trying to start an flame war this time... but if it\'s an edit war you want, I\'m all in.

don\'t use vague examples; only you can prevent flame wars

* TrueArtIsIncomprehensible: Satirized with Ragulin of the ''Ecole Musico-Technologique'' and his pretentiously avant-garde "l'Experience Sonique" in ''[[http://www.eyrie.net/UF/FI/SOS/city-of-light.txt The Rose that Blooms in the City of Light]]''; further mocked by Ragulin himself much later, after he has an epiphany and becomes an itinerant bluesman.
