* BrokenBase: The ''Brave Witches'' season. Some fans aren't really happy for the focus of the anime to switch away from the Strike Witches themselves, where as others are fine to see the anime focus on the expansive universe of the series, or at least happy to see the anime series continue. While airing, the series got it's fair share of praise and criticism. Fans generally like how the current MC Hikari is a [[ContrastingSequelMainCharacter Contrasting Interquel Main Character]] from the previous MC Yoshika who fans generally agree became too much of a MarySue. However, a common criticism is the very poor use of CGI, and how frequently it takes you away from the experience.

* FanPreferredCouple: Perrine and Lucchini. Many of their interactions are rather amusing in terms that they're complete polar opposites, ''especially'' episode 10 of the second season, where they share ''tons'' of ShipTease moments, including Lucchini throwing a sword to Perrine to defeat a golem, which got fans buzzing.

** And now that the show has aired, ''Brave Witches'' '''does''' has its fans, but the gerneral consensus is that it's nowhere near as good as the previous 2 seasons in terms of both storytelling and animation, doesn't help that the poorly done CGI frequently takes you away from the experience

* GrowingTheBeard: From episode 8 onward.This is noted in the dub commentary, when the ADR director was first assigned the show for dubbing, he wasn't that impressed at first. The strength of the characterizations and the fun way they build upon each other won him over by episode four.

This has turned some viewers off the series completely, while others put up with the {{fanservice}} for the sake of the entertaining plot and likeable characters, as well as the awesome battle scenes (panty shots excluded of course)

** Sanya's popularity is vastly disproportionate to the amount of screen-time she gets. And she was one of the first characters to receive a figurine.

* {{Moe}}: Most characters, but especially Sanya (the creators seem determined to play her cuteness for all its worth) and Lynette ([[CuteClumsyGirl clumsy]], [[ShrinkingViolet shy]], [[ApologisesALot low self esteem]]...we could go on).

* CrowningMomentOfHeartwarming: Several, but especially episode 6 (both seasons).

* ComplainingAboutShowsYouDontWatch: No matter how off-putting the fanservice can be to some, this series' hatedom is way more appalling. Don't bring up this series on Something Awful, [[InternetBackdraft if you value your life.]]

** Heidimarie herself is one from the side materials as she belonged to no Joint Flight Wing but proved popular among fans on both sides of the pacific due to her looks, personality, combat record, and still having traces of {{Moe}}.

** While TheMovie cameos basically every Japanese fandom favorite they can cram in, Heidimarie in particular is given the third most significant plot driven scenes after Shizuka and Yoshika, and is basically treated as a member of the 501st (read: primary cast) at the end, in all but name.

* ClicheStorm

*** This due to her being one among the fandom for a long time. Her and various other non-501st witches are pretty popular among fans, possibly more so than the 501st.

** Which is pretty dumb, considering that in SkyGirls [[YouFailLogicForever the pilots' booties aren't exactly clothed]].
*** Well, at least their underwear isn't showing ([[GoingCommando if they wear any under their suits]]), so these {{FanNickname}}s have a certain sense.

** The pictures on the left are, as far as I remember, actually Wochenschau footage, explaining the Blitzkrieg tactic to the German populace, with the tip being the assault force, and the rest assembles a secure line of defense for the convoys that supply the tip to keep it going. Yes, this does not make it better, I am clear on that.
*** If anything, "supplying the tip" makes it worse
