* CrossesTheLineTwice: Not him directly, the WWE and CM Punk using his "ashes" as a way to bait The Undertaker. While some fans were up in arms about it and criticized the company for it, Wrestling/JimCornette, of all people (a personal friend of Bearer's and NOT afraid to criticize the WWE), defended the angle saying that he would've loved every minute of it.

* [[TookTheBadFilmSeriously Took The Bad Gimmick Seriously]]: Sure it's a silly gimmick, but the fact that Paul was having so much fun with it made it all worthwhile.

One Of Us is now Just For Fun per this TRS thread. Also not a YMMV trope.

* OneOfUs: The crowd at Wrestlemania XX just about ''blew the roof off'' of the Garden when Paul's classic "Ohhh, yesss!" came over the PA. This wasn't just because of his legendary status as a manager, but also because Paul made a point to be accessible to the fans as best as he could, particularly on social media, where he was the most interactive with them. This was because Paul himself ''was'' a fan as much as he was a superstar in his own right. The fans were literally welcoming not just Paul Bearer, but one of their own back to the Garden. You could tell he was having a blast at their reaction, too.

** NarmCharmNarmCharm: Fans still look back fondly at his over the top antics on-screen. The fact that he had such a ludicrous gimmick yet made it work has practically immortalized the guy when fans talk about managers and valets. The fact that he loved every minute of it probably helped.
