* SequelDifficultySpike: II is significantly harder than the previous installment. From merely killing one target, you'll be storming entire bases filled with EliteMooks if you play your cards wrong. It was an IntentedAudienceReaction on someguy's end, as he specifically designed the encounters to be more challenging.

* SpiritualAdaptation: The Frosthill segment of New Vegas Bounties III is very similar to Film/TheGreatSilence in terms of general setting (the Utah during the winter) and plot: the town's inhabitants are harmless fugitives who have bounties on their head, the protagonist is a good and moral bounty hunter ( and the Courier could be seen as DecompositeCharacter of Silence), the BigBad is a ruthless bounty hunter. The ending is similar too: [[spoiler:the hero is shot through the hand then killed, while the bounty hunters slaughter the town. * BaseBreakingCharacter: Opinions on Marko's character varies strongly. Some players thinks that he lives up well to his status as TheDreaded and proves to be an harrowing enemy for the Courier, being capable of outsmarting them and being quite tough to fight even for a high-leveled character. Others disagree and think that Marko comes off as excessively verbose blowhard who gets constant CharacterShilling, can't be called out at any point by the Courier during his numerous rants, and assumes the player character is a naive goody-two-shoes even if that's not the case. Marko is so contentious that an entire mod has been made specifically to rewrite him.

Apparently there's a note on Brookshire's corpse claiming he worked for the Syndicate, which would explain the Fridge Logic of the climax but also further undermine Marko as a character.

Straw Nihilist is not a YMMV trope.

* StrawNihilist: Marko, who firmly believes that VirtueIsWeakness and seems contemptuous of philosophy of any kind. Justified (or at least explained) by making it clear he's a product of the anarchic wastelands far east of the NCR's borders, where nations and laws have yet to reassert themselves, and subtly subverted by the simple fact that you can't believe a single damn thing that comes out of the man's mouth. All in all, he's constructed as an equal and opposing UberMensch facing the courier down in a battle of will.

All in all, he's constructed as an equal and opposing UberMensch facing the courier down in a battle of will.will.
* UnwinnableByInsanity: Steven Randall and Larry Scull aren't set essential. That's normally not an issueunless the player is unluck enough to enter their respective offices while being followed by hostiles, since Randall and Scull never live their places, but that means the player can attack and kill them. Of course, killing the MissionControl [=NPCs=] makes the mod's questline impossible to complete. It seems that someguy2000 didn't imagine a player would intentionally do this, since the quest remains active instead of being marked failed.

* TrollingCreator: The readme of New Vegas Bounties III states that you shouldn't bring companions.

* SpiritualAdaptation: The Frosthill segment of NVBIII is very similar to Film/TheGreatSilence in terms of general setting (the Utah during the winter) and plot: the town's inhabitants are harmless fugitives who have bounties on their head, the protagonist is a good and moral bounty hunter ( and the Courier could be seen as DecompositeCharacter of Silence), the BigBad is a ruthless bounty hunter. The ending is similar too: [[spoiler:the hero is shot through the hand then killed, while the bounty hunters slaughter the town. It was initially supposed to be closer to the original, since the Courier had a potential LoveInterest who gets killed along Frosthill's population (the romance has been cut from the released version, as someguy2000 didn't like the result)]]
