ATT. Misused as not a change in the work.

* TheyChangedItNowItSucks: The majority of the fandom rejoiced at the final episode containing a scene of Suletta and Miorine wearing matching rings, with many people -- including those who worked on the show -- taking it as confirmation they got married. However, in late July 2023 Bandai Namco Entertainment redacted an unscripted statement in an interview with one of the voice actors that Suletta and Miorine were married, and in response to confusion stated that they were not officially married and their relationship was up to viewer interpretation. This was met with immediate outrage by the fandom, especially LGBTQ+ members, with the series' ratings tanking overnight in the wake of the announcement.

** Some old-school Gundam fans have declared the series "not proper Gundam" due to the school setting and there not being a war going on, and said to be lighter and softer than previous series, though this opinion has largely been quashed with the release of Episodes 5 and 6, and then later utterly demolished with the release of [[WhamEpisode Episode 12]]. Completely demolished with [[AnyoneCanDie Episode 20]], when the school is subject to horrific death and destruction.

* ItsShortSoItSucks: For the majority of the fans, the most common issue with the show is that the story crams itself to fit into 24 episodes which many felt about the ending being inadequate and rushed. While most are okay with Suletta and Miorine's ending, many are unsatisfied with the way how the story wraps itself as there are still some storylines left unresolved (e.g. the ongoing conflict between the Earthians and Spacians and the mystery behind Nortrette Rembran's death). This is also why fans want to explore the Ad Stella universe more and hope for possible side stories and sequels.

** The series would also clash with ''Anime/MobileSuitGundamIronBloodedOrphans'', particularly those who are introduced to the franchise through the latter. The conflict usually stems from the LighterAndSofter tone of ''The Witch from Mercury'', with ''Iron-Blooded Orphans'' fans claiming that it should be DarkerAndEdgier because they believe TrueArtIsAngsty and that there should be many deaths. They even disparaged the ending for being too happy and that it should have a BittersweetEnding with some of the main characters dying. ''The Witch from Mercury'' fans retorted this saying that the show doesn't need to be very dark like some of the previous entries because it's in a different setting and pointed out that the previous shows before ''Iron-Blooded Orphans'' had the main cast surviving in the past and earning their happy endings. Likewise, they find that needlessly killing off characters just for the sake of shock value to be detrimental. Ironically, most fanart enjoys depicting Mikazuki and Suletta as friends, and the general mecha fandom would love to see how both series interact in ''VideoGame/SuperRobotWars''.

** The Gundam Schwarzette. [[spoiler:After several episodes worth of buildup, it only got some incredibly limited screen time. While it got to show off quite a bit in that limited space, many were left disappointed that for all the buildup, it was such a quickly done and over with affair. This was made worse with the release of the Gunpla that reveals that it had even more features it never got to show off. The fact that it also ended up being piloted by Lauda, a very divisive character character, rather than a more popular one ones (like either Guel or ''even'' Miorine [[WhatIf if she ended up being an enemy rival to Suletta]]) didn't help people's perception of it either]].

** The completed Demi Barding. [[spoiler:While the unfinished version got to see some action in the hands of Chu-chu during the Asticassia attack, the finalized version launched during the final battle got to see no combat whatsoever, only ever serving as a glorified transport truck with its new equipment serving as little more than window dressing]].

I believed the friendly fandoms between Gundam and Kamen Rider wasn't a Newbie Boom case because it was already occured since it's inception.

** The NewbieBoom ''G-Witch'' brought about includes a lot of ''Franchise/KamenRider'' fans, resulting in a fandom overlap intertwining both franchises and leading to various comparisons and jokes for multiple installments, due to a lot of surprisingly plot-specific similarities as well as the general theme of cybernetic augmentations seen in most Showa-era entries.

* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter: The original Elan. [[spoiler:You'd think that with the way he remained as a background character all throughout the whole show, he was being built up to be a major villain down the line that Suletta and company would have to fight against. However, it ended up never reaching a point for him to step into the limelight and takeover. Only in the last minute does the original Elan actually end up doing anything, and it's just to team up with Guel from a business standpoint]].

** The ''Witch from Mercury'' fandom clashes with the ''[[Anime/MobileSuitGundamIronBloodedOrphans Iron-Blooded Orphans]]'' fandom, particularly those fans who are introduced to the Gundam franchise thru IBO. The conflict usually stems from the LightAndSofter tone of ''Witch from Mercury'' with IBO fans claiming that it should be DarkerAndEdgier because they believe TrueArtIsAngsty and that there should be many deaths. They even disparaged the ending for being too happy and that it should have a BittersweetEnding with some of the main characters dying. GWitch fans retorted this saying that the show doesn't need to be very dark like some of the Gundam series and pointed out that the previous shows before IBO had the main cast surviving in the past and earning their happy endings. Likewise, they find that needlessly killing off characters just for the sake of shock value to be detrimental.
