** The biggest reason why Vicent Le Mec is considered a poor villain is that every development that allowed him to become a threat against Lucifer is rather poorly justified in the narrative:
*** The first major development is that . This comes after 6 seasons of showing how Celestials can only posess the bodies of people who recently died, making it hard to buy that . Lucifer even lampshades he has no idea how this could have happened.

** Rory quickly took place as the most polarizing character in the show. A lot of fans see her an annoying Wangsty brat that keeps blaming Lucifer for things he hasn't committed yet (and doesn't plan to do), who is way too inmature for someone over 50 years and hates she gets more relevance that anyone not called Lucifer and Chloe. While other fans think she has a legitimate reason to be angry, enjoy her dynamic with and argue detractors are a bit too harsh in her immaturity, considering it took the entire story of mankind for Lucifer to grow up of his worst tendencies. ** [[spoiler: Lucifer deciding to go against becoming God is meant to be as a sign he hasn't found his true vocation yet, but the fact that he decides this after a whole war was fighted in his favour, one of her sisters was rendered DeaderThatDead and at the same time a potential Apocalypsis was about to happen (it was a false alarm but he didn't knew it at the moemnt )makes him look completely selfish and uncaring on how this choice would affect the people around him]]. Amenadiel even lampshades this but his points are dismissed by both Lucifer and the narrative.

** Lucifer and Daniel's relationship is pretty much the platonic equivalent of a RomanticPlotTumor. Each season has them interchanging between being at odds with each other to being FireForgedFriends to VitriolicBestBuds, only for something to happen at the end of the seasons that causes them to go back to stage one. By Season 5, most fans were tired of the writers constantly ruining their relationship for the sake of drama.

** Lucifer discovering in the second to last episode is meant to be a huge Shocking Moment but it is such an bizarre and out of nowhere development (see AssPull for more details) that it look more like something out of a SoapOpera that a serious Wham Moment.

* QuestionableCasting: Creator/RobBenedict is not a bad actor but he's certainly not French, which is not too bad when he played a random henchman in Season 5, but it becomes painfully notable when he became the FinalBoss of Season 6. Most audiences agree his accent was distractingly bad and sometimes sounded more irish that french, leading to a rather awkward performance. With that said, the scene where was praised.
* ReplacementScrappy: A major reason Rory is controversial is that she pretty much replaces Trixie in the final season as with Trixie's role in the final season being extremely minor to the point she's nowhere in sight at the end . It should have been a very important moment for the character, yet apparently the writers felt it was better for Rory to only be there for the scene. Many fans have expressed a great displeasure over how a character beloved for five seasons was barely used and then out and out ignored at the end for this new character and her unfounded wangst.

* SeasonalRot: Season 3 is generally regarded as the weakest season. Maze suddenly became UnintentionallyUnsympathetic, Chloe and Marcus got StrangledByTheRedString for the sake of a LoveTriangle with Lucifer, Lucifer's CharacterDevelopment stagnated and at times regressed, and the season just had a lot of Padding that saw characters be indecisive about what they want to do with their lives, and then change their minds after an episode or two.

to:

* SeasonalRot: TheScrappy: Even the biggest defenders of the final season tend to agree that Vicent Le Mec is an underwhelming final villain, having a rather ridiculous and poorly explained FreudianExcuse, an very Narmy french accent but more importantly, the fact that each of the achivements that allowed him to become a threat to Lucifer come up of absolutely nowhere, with any attempt to explain it being contrived at best and blatant Ass Pulls at worst, and that despite that he still ends up being an AntiClimaxBoss.

He's meant to be unsympathetic. All of that is adressed in the show and he has a Jerkass Realization about it.

** Dan is also this in the fourth season for some. His anger that Lucifer witholding information led to someone's death comes off as very hypocritical given his actions in the first season and the fact he never admits to almost getting Lucifer and his own daughter killed makes him come off as a KarmaHoudini.

It should have been a very important moment for the character yet apparently the writer's felt it was better for Rory to only be there for the scene. While it is nothing the character herself did in her actions, many fans are feeling it's because of Rory that Trixie was sidelined so hard and don't feel a lick of sympathy for her.

The Israelites didn't start worshiping Yahweh as their only God until after the Babylonian captivity and the process wasn't complete until the late 1st millennium BCE.
