** While initially somewhat popular with the ''VideoGame/{{Minecraft}}'' community even after their falling out with the Yogscast, this is no longer the case. This is partly due to Gamechap's starting a Twitter war with Marc Watson of Mojang over [[CowboyBebopAtHisComputer 500,000 accounts initially being hacked (when in reality that was not the case)]] and then not crediting an animator for his work on the bunny hopping animation.

* AuthorsSavingThrow: After complaints that their content had gotten stale, the duo launched a new channel called "[=TheChapsPlay=]", seemingly meant as a return to their old-style playthroughs.

* AudienceAlienatingEra: Gamechap and Bertie were popular for their QuintessentialBritishGentleman commentary while also focusing on various {{Game Mod}}s and gaming news, interjected with comedic skits and the like. But ever since being OvershadowedByControversy, the [=AdamzoneTopMarks=] channel has never been the same. The chaps signature commentary being phased out in favor of ninety percent no-commentary videos, including of back-to-back ''Super Mario Maker''/''Miitopia'' playthroughs, re-uploads of popular game trailers, topics that are cheap attempts of {{Fanservice}} and {{Fetish}} appeal, and other low-effort content has left the channel's viewership fluctuating downward from then on. Any returns to form have been few and far in between all the other aforementioned videos, with Gamechap and Bertie -- the source of the channels appeal -- being practically gone.

** Any time they come up on Reddit, there will be a major split.

* WinBackTheCrowd: While the whole Yogscast and Pixelmon debacles were generally agreed to be a serious drop in quality which drove many fans away for good, they appear to have won over a new audience with their ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBros'' content. The channel is slowly managing to win over more subscribers and their views are slowly starting to rise again.

** From mid-2013, the duo began making content which came under fire by some for being perceived racist, sexist (focusing on anime girls and cleavage in thumbnails being just one complaint, though this seems to have been reduced dramatically nowadays) and homophobic.
** While the Yogscast fandom is known as being somewhat volatile, Gamechap caused a smaller one when he insulted them. [[Administrivia/RuleOfCautiousEditingJudgmentBetter leave it there]].

** In general, the OrwellianEditor attitude of Gamechap is rather controversial, partly because of actual criticism being blocked and partly because some of the comments that get users blocked are neither offensive nor critical of their channel. ** Their banning a dyslexic user for being an "illiterate, unappreciative user with an attitude problem" caused a ''huge'' backdraft and was one of the reasons that some moderators outright quit the community.

** Herobrine gets MUCH scarier in the 1.3 vid about HIM being removed. At first, it looks like it's just gonna be an ordinary hilarious video about them thinking he's gone, when he's not. Then it switches to HIS point of view; all the sound is echoey, he's breathing hard, and he promptly builds a glow stone E. Then, he starts placing red stone torches. WHILE LETTING OUT A HORRENDOUS SCREAM. Then Game's door opens by itself. The music certainly doesn't help either...
