Older Than They Think is used for when a work is criticized for something a preceeding work did in the past. The similarity is already noted in They Copied It.

** Two other interpretations of the film's portrayal of the ''Carnotaurs'' abound. The first is that they are a mated couple, with the surviving one going to the herd not just to feed, but to avenge its' mate. Others take their disparate sizes (one is markedly bigger than the other) as an indication of them being ''a parent and its child'', with the smaller one being killed by Bruton and the larger one becoming vengefully angry.

* MostWonderfulSound:
** By the end of the film, you ''will'' recognize Aladar's signature bellow is a sign of hope.
** The ''Parasaurolophus'' call is also very memorable and triumphant.
** Baylene's colossal bellow befits a titan of her size and is the cherry on top of the chorus of dinosaur calls at the end of the film.

* OlderThanTheyThink: A common criticism of the movie's choice is that people had hopes for a movie with non-speaking dinosaurs until the lemurs began speaking after the prologue. This ignores the fact that the advertising campaign after the iconic teaser trailer liberally featured the characters speaking.

* OlderThanTheyThink: All the wandering herbivore dinosaurs desperately trying to find their way to a valley called the Nesting Grounds? A land untouched by disaster that has destroyed their food sources and free of predators? Sounds suspiciously word-for-word like [[WesternAnimation/TheLandBeforeTime The Great Valley]].

* SignatureScene: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YP1l9-i79ag The Egg Travels]] is such a grand epic opening to the film that the entirety of it was used just for the marketing trailers.

* UnintentionallySympathetic: The ''Carnotaurs'' were intended to be portrayed as insane, nonstop killing machines in DVD bonus features, but in the film many fans see them as minor, but developed characters. They seem to be a mated couple who only kill for hunger, are smart enough to know when ''not'' to attack the herd, and after one's death, the other goes insane with grief. Made worse if you take the carnotaurs' disparate sizes (one is markedly bigger than the other) as an indication of them being ''a parent and its child'', with the smaller one being killed by Bruton and the larger one becoming vengefully angry.

Alternative Character Interpretation is when "a character is subject to multiple interpretations about precisely who they are and what makes them tick." The entry about the Carnotaurus is just speculation about them possibly being a family. The Designated Villain entry about Kron needs to more context, as it's clear that his mentality was blatantly counter-productive and would have killed the entire herd had it not been for Aladar's intervention during the film's climax. The Carnotaurus are the main antagonists, so they cannot be Ensemble Darkhorses. Genius Bonus is speculation and Natter. Shoehorning of Harsher In Hindsight. Misuse of Memetic Mutation. Uncanny Valley is for an unsettling grey area between realism and stylization, not for just any character that looks "hideous".

** Url, an ''Ankylosaurus'' that travels at the back of the pack with the two elder dinosaurs. Is he this world's version of having a pet? Or does Url perhaps suffer from some kind of intellectual disability that causes him to have a hard time keeping up with the pack, and the only reason he hasn't been left behind completely is because Eema knows how to interact with him? He does seem to understand every word the speaking characters say, and used a stalagmite/stalactite he found to lead the others to the cave.

Carnotaurus are very enjoyable villains despite being just mindless animals, as they are one of the most terrifying depictions of an apex predator in any Disney movie.
