** Fans are divided on [[spoiler: Alfred's]] actions and arguments following the Season 2 finale. [[spoiler: He claims that Batman is doing more harm than good, that he’s creating his own villains, that the mission is too stressful to continue, and that Bruce could better serve Gotham using his other resources. Many think Alfred is being [[{{Wangst}} whiny]] and selfish (it's made clear that his guilt over enabling Thomas Wayne plays a large part in his decision to leave) and emotionally abusive for abandoning his foster son. Others believe Alfred has a right to leave as he is an old man and the stress of working as Bruce's support and having been kidnapped have taken their toll. Furthermore, Alfred's points -- that Bruce will end up dead like his father and that Batman just makes things worse -- do have arguable merit: Bruce comes seriously close to dying in both the Vigilante and Villain routes, and Two-Face, Joker, Penguin, and Lady Arkham were either created or inspired by Batman (especially Joker) and Bruce's crusade being directly or indirectly responsible for Lucius Fox’s death and Tiffany's subsequent murder of Riddler, Alfred accumulating trauma, and Bruce nearly dying several times. Other fans point out, however that Penguin and Lady Arkham were evil long before Batman came into play and that Harvey already had deep seated mental problems that would have come to the surface whether or not Batman was there (after all being Mayor is a stressful job). What’s more, Batman has already demonstrated that he has been doing good as Bruce Wayne like funding the rebuilding of Arkham Asylum and funding his honest DA friend's political campaign. Player choice blurs the line further, with Alfred's points becoming stronger or weaker depending on the consequences of their decisions, and their responses to his assertions. In fact Website/{{YouTube}}r [=IBeerlezy=] points out that Lady Arkhan would have still captured Alfred in season one, anyways. It was only because Bruce was Batman that Alfred was rescued as if he'd merely been Bruce, Alfred would have died for sure.]]

* GuideDangIt: Succeeding in actually getting a RelationshipUpgrade with Selina in the Vigilante ending of Season 2 can be a real pain. The steps involved include picking the dialogue option for Waller to release Selina in exchange for your help, telling Selina you love her when she saves you from the rubble, then finally reminding Waller she owes you after you rescue her from Joker. It's such a hard-to-complete path that the end-of-episode statistics state that only three percent of players have managed it.

** Depending on how you treated Harvey, the reasons behind his FaceHeelTurn can come off as very silly. Support him at every point and he'll only FaceHeelTurn because Bruce possibly slept with Selena, ''who Harvey wasn't even dating''. Essentially, Harvey becomes Two-Face just [[DisproportionateRetribution because Bruce (maybe) broke the "bro code"]].

** Penguin/Oswald Cobblepot's and to a much lesser extent [[spoiler:Vicki Vale's]] unyielding hatred of Bruce can be incredibly unreasonable depending on your choices. Both show up in the first episode as friends to Bruce at first, and yet, even if your polite, kind, and morally strait in all your interactions, they will become absolutely convinced that Bruce is no different from his father no matter what you do or say. This sort of makes sense for the latter as [[spoiler:she has clearly been driven insane by her trauma]]. Oswald on the other hand seems to be perfectly sane and becomes convinced Bruce is the real monster ''before'' he even does anything wrong, coming off as a petty GreenEyedMonster who envies Bruce’s fortune that came at his family’s expense.

John is clearly not the most reasonable individual and the narrative itself isn’t agreeing with him.

* InformedWrongness: Bruce's option of wanting to turn John in is treated as him not trusting the latter's claims of killing Waller's agents in self-defense and the catalyst for him becoming Joker despite it being a completely reasonable response because regardless of whether it was self-defense or not, it's ridiculous John would think he wouldn't be arrested and go to trial for gunning down three people.

* ItsEasySoItSucks: As usual with most Telltale Games, the most complaints are the lack of challenge in the gameplay. However, some gamers go as far as to say that Batman is practically an InvincibleHero who goes down less easily than most Telltale protagonists. Admittedly this is nothing new to the Batman franchise, even comicbook fans tend to refer to him as Bat God because of how unstoppable he is.

* MagnificentBastard: [[ProfessionalKiller Floyd Lawton]], aka Deadshot, is a wealthy military contractor seeking vengeance against the Wayne name for his horrific childhood. [[DarkAndTroubledPast Scarred by a past of tragedy]], Lawton witnessed his cherished older brother's murder at the hands of their {{abusive parents}}, going on to avenge his sibling by coldly murdering his parents and getting away with it at the age of fourteen. In adulthood, Lawton learns that his parents were enabled and kept out of law enforcement's eyes by Thomas Wayne, and, blaming the long-dead man and his living associates for his brother's death, Lawton becomes the assassin "Deadshot." Beginning to track down and systematically murder all of Wayne's former compatriots, Deadshot confronts and outwits [[Characters/BatmanTheCharacter Batman]] himself with several traps and decoys, and even kidnaps the man's butler, Alfred Pennyworth, to use as a hostage. Planning to force Batman to either kill him or let the hostage associates of Thomas Wayne die, Deadshot can only express respect and acceptance for Batman when beaten, simply moving on to join a [[ComicBook/SuicideSquad government task force]] for an early release from prison with a smile.

* UnintentionallyUnsympathetic: Amanda Waller in the finale attempts to justify all her immoral actions by arguing how she wanted to bring good for others in the end, but it may fall flat since her immoral actions can be seen as outweighing her noble intentions. Such as trying to shoot John right after he disarmed his crush and prevented a bridge from being blown up just because he wouldn't hand over the virus causing him to become a violent psychopathic vigilante in response. It's not present in the Villain route where she praises Bruce for saving the day, even pulls in multiple favors for him as thanks and promises to keep his identity a secret in a genuine tone. In the Vigilante route however, Batman obtains files that expose her dirty dealings such as having witnesses killed and keeping Sanctus equipment and keeps the pact under her thumb using shock collars which is highly illegal and can potentially get people killed which severely undermines her arguments.

This sort of makes sense for the latter as [[spoiler:she has clearly been driven insane by her trama]]. Oswald on the other hand seems to be perfectly sane and becomes convinced Bruce is the real monster ''before'' he even does anything wrong.

Removing because it's a moot point after the second season and because it's too speculative to qualify even as a historical example.

* BrokenBase: Whether or not the Joker should be in the game. Some think the character is too integral to the franchise to be excluded and want to see Telltale's interpretation of the Clown Prince of Crime, and some feel that he's overexposed between the heavy focus on him in the Arkham series and the game being released concurrently with his appearance in ''Film/SuicideSquad2016''. These fans would also prefer to see some of Bruce's other villains emphasized after ''Arkham Origins'' teased a story about Batman fighting the mob in his early days, only for the story to be [[HijackedByGanon hijacked by Joker]].

Bruce can explicitly state that Harvey and Selena weren't dating and, much later, Harvey can say Bruce knew he was interested in Selena.

** Penguin crosses it when [[spoiler:shooting the innocent debate moderator]]. Even Bruce admits this event cemented that [[ThatManIsDead his best friend is gone]]. If that wasn't enough he tries to kill Harvey by smashing his face with a stagelgiht as opposed to the quick death he gave Mayor Hill who actually deserved it.

** Also as of the Season 2 finale, [[spoiler: Tiffany Fox. She was almost universally beloved until then, but the revelation that she killed Riddler caused many fans to turn on her, and there's much debate as to whether forgiving her constitutes KarmaHoudini or not. Besides that, fans debate how well-handled the twist was, with some considering it a ShockingSwerve since it's hard to believe she could've found Riddler and planned his murder in such a short amount of time, when even Batman had trouble locating him. Some fans are also angry that this potentially invalidates most of the arc the season established for her, and contributes to Alfred's above mentioned breakdown. Others consider Tiffany talented and smart for tracking down Riddler by following Batman using the drone she gave him earlier. And despite arguments over her actions, statistics show that over 70% players chose to let her join Batman]].
