** Cyrus, he's a NervousWreck and shows signs of depression. He constantly says self-deprecating things and clearly has low self-esteem. The problem is that most of the time, his friends don’t do much to dissuade this self-deprecation, often actually reinforcing it. They love him but call him helpless and can be quite callous with him. Andi doesn't even consider Cyrus' feelings as she pursues Jonah (she kisses Jonah in front of him!). When Cyrus claims to not be important when Buffy and Andi are distracted by Jonah, they don't even disagree.

* WhatDoYouMeanItWasntMadeOnDrugs: Andi's surrealist nightmare in The Boys are Back. Doubles as NightmareFuel and a BigLippedAlligatorMoment.

* TheScrappy: After Kira’s initial appearance in “The New Girls”, some fans were expecting her to turn out to be nice, but nearly everyone turned against her after her implied homophobia in “Mount Rushmore or Less”. Some fans still held out hope for a redemption arc, but between her rudeness, controlling nature, and manipulations in “Unloading Zone” and “We Were Here”, Kira ended up being the only recurring teen antagonist to never be redeemed. (It’s possible her redemption arc was intentionally held off for a 4th Season).

** You'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who enjoys watching Miranda or her daughter Morgan. Miranda is hated for refusing to discipline her child, [[{{Gaslighting}} accusing Andi of lying]] about the stolen prayer box, and [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking calling AndiShack a "sewing hut"]], while Morgan is hated for being a lying [[StickyFingers kleptomaniac]].
** Any sympathy fans might've had for her was wiped away when she returned. She told Bowie she changed, only to have Morgan pretend she [[MissingChild went missing]] in an effort to win Bowie back. It's very easy to see why her marriage failed.

It's an otherwise relatively serious scene turned humourous by the fact that TJ's name turns out to be ''Thelonious Jagger'', made even sillier if you notice that 'Thelonious' is also, of all things, a subtle ''{{Westernanimation/Shrek}} reference''... but the whole scene is just too sweet to actually laugh at. Plus, the name being so goofy makes Cyrus loving it that much more heartwarming.]]

*** Golden Retriever [[note]]Jonah has been compared to golden retrievers for his in-universe HundredPercentAdorationRating, constant optimism, and affinity for frisbee.[[/note]]

** TJ and Cyrus only getting to hold hands while the show's major straight couple kissed in the series finale naturally got a lot of people upset, with many suspecting ExecutiveMeddling similar to the infamous final scene of ''WesternAnimation/TheLegendOfKorra'', despite all the strides in gay representation that have been seen since then. WordOfGod replied that they didn’t feel the characters were at that place yet, since at their age simply holding hands can feel like as huge a step as kissing, and they didn't want to do it just so they could say they’d done it. They also have confidence that more shows will follow through the door they opened, and are perfectly comfortable letting one of them have the honor of featuring the Disney Channel's first gay kiss.

** Andi and TJ for Jonah/Cyrus fans. Both of their BaseBreakingCharacter statuses take this UpToEleven, with some Andi detractors going as far to characterize her as homophobic in fan works [[spoiler:despite her acceptance and support of Cyrus when he came out to her]].

* BrokenBase: Late Season 2, which introduced several new characters and story arcs. Their reception was initially positive, but introducing and establishing them all with only half a season left led to some pacing issues and unresolved conflict.

This is at least part of the reason TJ/Cyrus is so loved - TJ has always believed in Cyrus wholeheartedly, encouraging him and constantly letting him know he’s important. He even says to stop telling Cyrus what he can't do, and instead of letting Cyrus wallow in helplessness, TJ pushes him to overcome his obstacles. Cyrus also gets [[spoiler:his heart broken by both his crushes and loses his grandmother. He’s also initially afraid of his feelings for a boy.]]

** TJ has become one in Season 3; it helps that he’s a much sweeter and better person now than he used to be. TJ already has insecurities and self-destructive tendencies, but in a short span, [[spoiler:he loses his friends, is blamed for things that aren’t his fault, is a victim of homophobic blackmail, alienates himself from Cyrus, and finds himself under Kira's manipulative and controlling thumb. It's become a joke in the fandom that the writers just won't let TJ be happy.]]

* FriendlyFandoms: With the music artist Cavetown, of all things - since the song 'Lemon Boy' became a meme in the fandom (detailed below), and with Cyrus's actor, Joshua Rush, [[{{JustForFun/OneOfUs}} also being a Cavetown fan]], you'd be hard pressed to find a long-time Andi Mack fan who doesn't hold some level of affection for his music - especially among the TJ/Cyrus fans.

* WhatDoYouMeanItsForKids: Besides the fact that the show's premiere is about the effects of a past TeenPregnancy affecting a family's life, the show also shows more mature themes then one would normally except from Disney Channel, such as strained family relationships, LGBT themes, toxic/abusive relationships, learning disabilities, anxiety, panic attacks, having a parent in the military, guns, and possibly even mental illness. Yet it still manages to keep a "G" rating despite that.

* WinTheCrowd: The lack of a LaughTrack, DarkerAndEdgier themes, and a diverse cast has won over many fans. Being made by Terri Minsky, the creator of ''Series/LizzieMcGuire'', helps as well.
** Ratings and social media interest show that there is quite a large group of people tuning into ''Andi Mack'' who wouldn’t otherwise watch Disney Channel.

* OneTrueThreesome: Buffy/TJ/Cyrus haves a sizeable fandom mainly because Buffy and Cyrus are best friends and TJ having UST with Cyrus and a kind of BST with Buffy as the three relationship derived of this trio (Buffy/Cyrud, TJ/Cyrus, Buffy/TJ) are popular. They often stated as saving the modern Disney Channel by fans.

* It Was His Sled: Bex being revealed as Andi's mother instead of her older sister is ''the'' only thing most people know about the show, followed by [[spoiler: Cyrus being gay]].

Most likely because not only did a character who's naturally calm and collected is shown breaking down for once, but also because this is pretty much the first time the Disney Channel actually depicted a character with a possible canon anxiety disorder in one of their shows. Especially one that's considered a KidCom.

*** Basically, she dreams of her
birth parents finally getting married. But then, she sees Jonah's smiling face plastered onto ''all the wedding guests' faces. Even on Bex and Bowie's faces!'' Jonah's face on the former is especially '''disturbing!'''

* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: Jonah never told Andi about his panic attacks which felt like a loose end that deserved to be tied up since that's the reason the two got back together in Season 2 and Andi chose him over Walker

* AbandonShipping: Jonah/Cyrus had a larger following at the show's debut, since there were fewer recurring characters and [[spoiler: because of Cyrus' [[TransparentCloset behavior around]] [[ClosetKey Jonah]].]] As the show progressed, Jonah's RelationshipRevolvingDoor with [[spoiler:Andi and Amber]] and TJ/Cyrus [[FanPreferredCouple becoming more popular]] resulted in fans losing interest.

*** His subplot in "Cookie Monster" and "The New Girls" can be seen as a final step in his HeelFaceTurn, or proof that he's a [[ToxicFriendInfluence bad influence]] [[JerkWithAHeartOfJerk and hasn't changed]]. The fact that he's EasilyForgiven is also divisive.

She's gotten far more hate than any other character on the show, and some fans even consider her irredeemable.

** Reed, despite being a OneShotCharacter, grew a sizable fanbase due to his [[MemeticMutation infamously]] [[GRatedStoner spacey attitude]] and general odd persona. A sneak peek from a season 3 trailer led to speculation that he would [[HoYay flirt with Cyrus in some way]] and make TJ jealous, gaining him some popularity before he showed up onscreen. Lester received this treatment on a smaller scale, mostly from fans trying to identify his [[UncreditedRole Uncredited Actor]].
