* TookALevelInBadass: By the end of the short, Kari's reflexes are good enough to pull a mirror from behind her back and deflect Jack-Jack's EyeBeams ''after'' he fired them, and she did this while sleep-deprived. Assuming these skills survived the mind-wipe, all other babysitting jobs will be a complete cakewalk for her.

* BroughtToYouByTheLetterS: Discussed; when Syndrome arrives at the Parr house, Kari assumes he's a more professional replacement sitter Jack-Jack's parents hired. [[SureLetsGoWithThat Syndrome goes along with it]], saying the "S" on his shirt actually stands for "sitter", adding that he wanted to use the initials for "babysitter" but decided against going around in public with a big "BS" on his chest.

* AdultFear:
** There's a brief moment where Jack-Jack vanishes the minute that Kari turns her back. She at first assumes that he's playing hide and seek after he reappears from behind a kitchen jar. Then she gets frantic as he ''keeps'' disappearing and chases him all over the house. Many a babysitter and parent can relate.
** Kari tries to be a sensible babysitter and call the emergency number Helen left for advice and then help when it seems she's in over her head. Helen never picks up, meaning Kari has to handle a real babysitting emergency alone, with no backup or adults nearby. You can't blame Kari for panicking in her later voicemails as she screams "This isn't fine!" because she is just a kid.

It's not really Stealth Hi Bye in that Jack-Jack isn't doing it deliberately to dramatically and stealthily enter/exit a conversation. In the short it's more a case of Offscreen Teleportation in that he vanishes just as the camera turns to Kari or something obscures Jack-Jack for a brief second like Kari's head or the vase on the table. Reclassifying. Also, Kari tethers Jack-Jack to the barbell to stop him from floating around, not teleporting.

* StealthHiBye: Jack-Jack starts appearing and disappearing after his powers activate. Kari, fortunately, gets wise to this power and solves the problem by tethering Jack-Jack to a dumbbell.

mis-use: Be Careful What You Wish For is when a character makes a wish and actually gets what they wished for, only to find that the reality does not live up to their fantasy. Since the story ends as Kari gets her mind wiped, we never see any consequences of her wish, good or bad, to say that this trope is truly in play.

* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: Kari moans, after telling her story to Mr. Dicker, that she wishes she could forget all about the awful night babysitting Jack-Jack. He reassures her that she will, as he wipes her memory.

Last part of example isn't really relevant to the trope.

* BreakTheCutie: Kari's initially cheerful demeanor breaks down over the course of the night. She goes from an enthusiastic teen to a BadlyBatteredBabysitter while trying to keep Jack-Jack out of danger. As she tells Mr. Dicker, it was not fun and she wishes she could forget about it. He proceeds to wipe her memory.
