* DogsAreDumb: Sam may be able to speak, thanks to the robots' inventions, but he's still not especially bright.

* PinkGirlBlueBoy: Daisy and Robin, respectively.
* TalkingAnimal: Sam, thanks to a voice chip made by Rivet and Widgit.

to:

* GadgeteerGenius: Rivet often builds inventions to help the twins and the other robots solve problems. However, he tends to be go for the ridiculous and impractical with his ideas.
* MechanicalLifeforms: Rivet, Widgit, and Socket are robotic aliens from a planet inhabited entirely by lifeforms just like them.
* PinkGirlBlueBoy: Daisy and Robin, respectively.
Robin respectively wear pink and blue to differentiate them.
* PolarOppositeTwins: Robin and Daisy. Asides from gender, they also have differentiating interests, with Robin being interested in things typical for a 7-year-old boy and Daisy liking more girly things.
* RobotAntenna: Rivet and Socket both have a singular antenna on their heads.
* RobotHair: Widgit has a mechanical ponytail.
* StuffBlowingUp: Socket has a habit of exploding without warning due to his outdated build.
* TalkingAnimal: Sam, thanks to a voice chip made by Rivet and Widgit. However, he's still pretty much a normal dog in terms of thought processes and intelligence.

* TrueBlueFemininity: Widgit.

to:

* TrueBlueFemininity: Widgit.Widgit, as the most feminine of the robots, is blue.

In this show, three robots named Rivet, Widgit, and Socket, who are all from the planet Clang, crashland on Earth. More specifically, they crashland in a tree in a suburban backyard. There, the three little robots encounter and befriend a pair of 7-year-old gender-opposite twins named Robin and Daisy Harrison, as well as their pet dog Sam (whom the robots equip with a voice box on his collar that allows him to speak). Unable to return to their homeworld, Rivet, Widgit, and Socket proceed to go on a variety of adventures and misadventures with the Robin and Daisy (often with the help of a wide variety of gadgets created by the robots), while the human twins make it their duty to keep the existence of the trio of alien robots a secret from everyone else
