* BackFromTheDead: Matt, the demon Marluxia killed in Season One, returned in Season Two to referee the murder-off. Arguably, Darth Maul as well. It was thought that this was done with Yuffie, [[spoiler:but it turned out she just had an identical twin sister... also named Yuffie.]]
* BatmanGambit: In one arc, Zexion...or should I say [[FanNickname Zexy]]...tries to run for governor. To help him improve his chances, the rest of the cast decide to kill off his competitors, but to avoid being convicted, they instead take advantage of Clouds personal vendetta against Axel, tricking him into going on a murderous rampage and...thanks to strategic planning from Aerith, Axel, Namine, and Larxene...killing the Republican and Democratic parties as planned. However, they also put Zexion's only surviving competitor, Cid, in Cloud's path, causing Axel to appear at the last second and kill Cloud, saving Cid's life, thus marking Zexion and his cabinet as heroes; ergo, improving their chances of winning.

* BackFromTheDead: Matt, the demon Marluxia killed in Season One, returned in Season Two to referee the murder-off. Arguably, Darth Maul as well.well (he was killed in The Phantom Menace only to turn up alive and well in Ansem Retort). It was thought that this was done with Yuffie, [[spoiler:but it turned out she just had an identical twin sister... also named Yuffie.]]
* BatmanGambit: In one arc, Zexion...or should I say [[FanNickname Zexy]]...Zexion tries to run for governor. To help him improve his chances, the rest of the cast decide to kill off his competitors, but competitors. Aerith then comes up with a scheme to avoid being convicted, they instead take advantage of Clouds Cloud's personal vendetta against Axel, tricking Axel to trick him into going on a murderous rampage and...thanks to strategic planning from Aerith, Axel, Namine, and Larxene...killing rampage, which includes the Republican and Democratic parties as planned. Democrat candidates. However, they also put Zexion's only surviving competitor, there was a second third-party candidate, Cid, in the election - so they put Cid in the path of Cloud's path, causing rampage, only for Axel to appear at the last second and kill Cloud, saving Cid's life, thus marking Zexion and his cabinet as heroes; ergo, improving their chances of winning.

** Ansem is not really pushing destruction or anything, he just wants ratings and does not care how they get them.
