** Tagg wipes out an entire convoy of Cipher Peons during the Orre Arc as a message. However, the consequences of that choice end up following him and the rest of the J-Team for years afterwards as it convinces Echo to go through with her plans to try turning humans and mons into one species via AssimilationPlot, which also has the knock-on effect of giving Constantin access to enough followers to create Neo-Flare after Illusion goes under, and more directly Lucius and Alice's murder by Abel and a former Cipher Peon [[RevengeByProxy whose friend was among those Tagg killed.]] Scarlette learning about it also makes her decide to pull a FaceHeelTurn and join Team Iron for a while.

* LoadsAndLoadsOfCharacters: The RP has about 30 primary [=PCs=], not counting secondary [=PCs=], their mons (Both primary and secondary), or the [=NPCs=].

* FiveManBand: In the beginning it worked like this, but after the group got a lot more members it became closer to TheTeam. The breakdown pre-Oblivia worked like this:
** Anom and Jane switch between TheHero and TheLancer depending on the situation.
** Daisy and Gamer were HerCodenameWasMarySue.
** Tagg and Pentigan shared a role as TheSmartGuy, since they tended to know the most about the world at large.
** Luke, DS, Crewe, Wolf, and Fool all inhabited SixthRanger status due to not being part of the group who fought David and Missingno for the first time.
** [[SelfDeprecation Slouch]] was TheLoad.
** Meddler was the TagalongKid, being the youngest in the group before Forte and later Fortis showed up during the OI and IK Arcs respectively.

** Ivy/Ellen Amarin's death involved getting stabbed by a Toxicroak, and bleeding out along with the deadly poison right in front of her own son. Eskay almost receives the same fate, but is quickly saved by Ellen herself, BackFromTheDead as Femata the Delta Golurk.

* GentleGiant: Many large and imposing Pokémon are like this.

* GoryDiscretionShot: We don't see Tagg murdering dozens of Cipher Peons as a threat toward the Admins of Cipher and as revenge for what the organization did to him about six years before the start of the RP during the Orre arc plus what they did during the arc, but we do see its aftermath.

** Cipher serves as one for the entire RP in general, often acting through proxies instead of fighting the J-Team directly, having a hand in the backstories of several characters, and even creating 'M which antagonized the J-Team during the Unova arc. For Orre, they end up becoming the BigBad of the arc.

* InnocuouslyImportantEpisode: The events of Twist Mountain are mostly just a series of [[MindScrew mind screws]], but it does set up a few plot points. Including one that ends up being the key to taking down 'M's anti-legendary shield.

** Team Skyclaw goes to solve the mystery of some disappearing mons in PMD-A, only to find out that the reason is not some monster, and certainly not the seemingly obvious culprits of a Gulpin and Swalot family they meet, but some rogue mons.
** Also within PMD-A, DS nearly gets killed after discovering a fake rescue team that was going around eating "civilized" mons, basically making them the equivalent of cannibalistic serial killers.
