With that knowledge, Nadakhan knew that summoning the Wojira on Nya is practically a XanatosGambit, which can only end either with Nya dying, or with Nya losing her humanity and becoming an embodiment of the Endless Sea. So he manipulated [[TheHeavy Kalmaar]] (in case you ask how and tell me that Kalmaar did everything from his own free will, well, I'll just say that Kalmaar always wanted to destroy Ninjago, and needed one final push, and Nadakhan giving him the idea of awakening the Wojira was that final push) into stealing the required MacGuffins (the Wave and Storm Amulets and Trimaar's trident). And his plan worked: Nya sacrificed herself into becoming an embodiment of the Endless Sea, thus losing her humanity. And Jay is broken because of it. However, there's something he hadn't accounted for, which is the next WMG:

After all, Nadakhan never learned who ''exactly'' destroyed the Cursed Realm, so this suggestion isn't too far of a stretch.

* Meanwhile, the Mechanic already has a number of henchmen, so unless he fired them all of a sudden or they quit themselves, they seem like a good choice. If the theory about him being one of Soto's pirates is true, other pirates may also join him. Even ordinary Kryptarium inmates may take the chance, but, judging from the trailer, Ronin and Fugi-Dove will side with the heroes.

The Serpentine king will try to convince Pythor to abandon the Crystal King, refusing to believe that the last of the Anacondrai is BeyondRedemption, only for him to prove his former friend wrong by [[MoralEventHorizon offing him]].

So, if you remember, after Kalmaar got his JustDesserts from Wojira, Gripe and the other Maaray Guards fled the scene, and it's most likely that they eventually returned to Merlopia. We see Benthomaar at Nya's memorial while there's no word on Glutinous's fate (but it's possible that he was evacuated with the civillians), but what happens to them next?
While they are still in Ninjago, Gripe had probably already returned and told the Merlopians of Kalmaar's death (he probably learned of Wojira's death too later). With the deaths of Trimaar and Kalmaar, Merlopia is going to be left in a power vacuum, and who if not the army's leader is going to take over? As for what Gripe's next move is going to be, we can only guess, but what's most likely is that he will first try to hold onto his power by picturing Kalmaar as a hero horribly killed by the surface-dwellers and labeling Bentho and Glutinous as traitors for fighting on the ninja's side and leaking important information respectively. Whether he will continue his master's vendetta against the surface world or stay content with ruling over the Merlopia we have yet to see, but he better beware now that one of his enemies is one with the ocean...

* In The Island we are introduced to the Storm Amulet which is Purple and is explicitly tied to the element of Wind. And who do we know who wears purple? Nelson.

The Mechanic looks like a member of Soto's crew that was shown on the info screen that Nadakhan looked at. He was Soto's shipwright and made the teapot and named it after himself
