[[WMG:A Faerie's appearance can change by passively absorbing magic from her surrounding environment.]]
Magic is infused into every aspect of the Neopian environment, and the lifeforms learned to absorb small amounts of this magic in order to adapt to the regions where they live. Since Faeries are more active in using their magic than the average Neopet, their appearances often change dramatically depending on where they have decided to make their home. Their wings are the first parts of their bodies to outwardly change.

* Taelia lives on Terror Mountain, so the cold and snow turned her wings white and blue.
* Jhuidah's wings turned pink and flower-like from the magical energy of the tropical plants on Mystery Island.
* Fyora has access to powerful magic that turned her wings pink and [[PurpleIsPowerful purple]], presumably being the strongest of the Faeries as their queen.

[[WMG:The Soup Faerie is either a former Earth Faerie, or a specialized Earth Faerie.]]
She has brown hair like one, and the description of Earth Faeries says that they are kind-hearted and enjoy feeding poor Neopets. How her wings turned from green to yellow is a mystery, though.

It's so well hidden that nobody has ever been able to find it without being invited. Some non-Maraquan outcasts live there too (Caylis asked Isca for some of her magic seaweed necklaces for this purpose), and occasionally go to the surface and wander Neopia, looking for fellow outcasts to invite to live with them.

[[WMG:Expanding on the above (from a different user)]]
* '''2004:''' The Quiguki company tried to release a line of trading cards in another attempt to compete with the far more popular Usuki. It didn't catch on.
* '''2005:''' The first Gnorbu to be sighted outside of Shenkuu really, ''really'' liked petpets and had a lot of exotic ones. At the same time, several very confused [[Website/{{Leopets}} visitors from another dimension]] wound up wandering Neopia aimlessly until the Faeries could figure out how to return them to their own universe.
* '''2006:''' The Tax Beast began to try subterfuge in an effort to drain more NP out of the populace at a constant rate instead of occasional ambushes, taking advantage of the date so nobody would take it seriously at first and the debts would accumulate. He was caught before he could put his plan fully into action, though.
* '''2007:''' The Down For Maintenance Pteri worked his magic to temporarily turn the Battledome into a glitchy EldritchLocation, making it unsafe for anyone to enter until he lifted the curse.
* '''2008:''' Bug-Eye [=McGee=] [[IJustWantToHaveFriends wanted to make friends]]. Only to be quickly reminded why he doesn't have many; it turns out he's extremely clingy and rather vindictive.
* '''2014:''' Dr. Death was being harangued by the [[AnimalWrongsGroup well-intentioned but aggressively-nice Rosie]], so he falsely announced his retirement just to get her to shut up.
* '''2015:''' Someone really needs to check that barrier between realities, it seems to get breached a lot on this date...
* '''2017:''' Pets who had been grievously wounded ([[DeathIsCheap or killed]]) during Neopia's numerous wars, especially the completely senseless and greedy Obelisk War, protested the Battledome and pressured those running it to shut it down and make an effort to prevent any more fighting. They decided to do it on April Fools' Day so they could easily have [[ParodyRetcon a way out]] if they could come to another agreement, which they ultimately did.
* '''2018:''' The Faeries decided to throw the [[EarlyInstallmentWeirdness long-ago-forced-into-retirement]] Video Store Shopkeeper [[ThrowTheDogABone a bone]] by letting him share his stock with other Neopians one last time.
* '''2019:''' Granny Hopbobbin knew in advance that Atsumi would take her place this year, so she decided to mess with Neopia before she went on vacation. In her summer home on the Maraquan island.
* '''2021:''' The Video Shopkeeper, having since started to get his life back together, was offered a new job running Neovision+. While offering it to USERS was a joke, [[EarnYourHappyEnding it being available to PETS was real, and he's quite happy now]].

Furthermore, Jelly World ''used'' to have [[https://bookofages.jellyneo.net/characters/2302/ a team in the Altador Cup]] -- the practice team, but a team nonetheless. The players were never named, but they suddenly disappeared after the second year of the Cup, replaced by a pack of identical Jelly Chias -- who are known to be artificial, according to the Gallery of Evil. Judging from Prisoner Five's fate, one can assume that whatever happened to the old Practice Team, [[InferredHolocaust it can't have been pleasant]]. Perhaps they were tired of [[DudeWheresMyRespect getting zero recognition]] and wanting to compete for real. And, of course, The Sway simply couldn't have that.

As for why they'd put it in Jelly World of all places? Simple: the concept of a nation made entirely out of gelatin ''does'' sound rather outlandish, so as long as it doesn't get any official recognition, it would be very easy to paint anyone who claims it's there as a nutcase or a liar.

First is Prisoner Five in Darigan Citadel, who tried to tell people of Jelly World's existence but was locked up as a lunatic. For decades. And since he [[GoMadFromTheIsolation actually is crazy now]], it's safe to assume that he'll die still imprisoned. He may have been an explorer in his youth, stumbling into this fantastical land by accident and wanting to tell everybody about his discovery, and that's when The Sway nabbed him.

* Something bugged me about the clouds. In our world, clouds don't work like that. And even in Neopia, they can break. So here's what I thought. Neopian clouds are infused with magic inherent in the planet, which allows Faeries (and Faerie Neopets and Petpets), certain flying Neopets, and certain flying Petpets to perch on them as if it were solid ground. Kinda like how [[MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic MLP]] pegasi can walk on clouds and other races can with a spell.\\
