* It would've responded to the fact that most people don't support animals in circuses, and would think that the animals stunts would be from the humans abusing them (not aware that all the humans had actually left the circus way long ago) and now everyone would need to find a new job to do. It would probably end with either them finding said new job, or the circus reopening.

It's not that there are no humans in Madagascar, real Madagascar has a population of around 24,894,551 people, it's just that Julien and his kingdom don't run into humans often if at all because humans aren't allowed to enter their "kingdom". The second movie actually does take place in nature reserve and most animals in that movie don't seem to be aware of humans neither, so it is a possiblility.

** So it's like the birthing/crowning ceremonies in Disney/TheLionKing?

* The penguins were just background characters in the first film. They had some important duties in the second film, even if they weren't the stars. In the trailer for the third film they are an important focus and seem to be part of the attraction for the movie. Their badassery has even been Flanderised. I think they're going to be co-stars for the third movie. They have become VERY popular thanks to ''ThePenguinsOfMadagascar'' spin-off series.

* If you're referring to the "[[https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/WMG/ThePenguinsOfMadagascar Julien is transsexual]]" theory, that doesn't make him a woman, it makes him a man with an unfortunate genetic issue. Same in reverse if you mean Sonya was assigned male at birth.

They are surprisingly very identical in terms of character; both are kings with [[ItsAllAboutMe huge egos]] and they both love dancing. Or... maybe he's a relative of Kuzco who was turned into a lemur because... Yzma's potions...

Julien has spent his entire life cycle shaping the culture of the Madagascar lemurs, encouraging their party animal lifestyle and doing his best to create a Utopian society. He's now on his thirteenth incarnation, hence King Julien XIII.

Sonya only makes bear noises. When Alex tries to talk to human, he only makes lion sounds to human ears.

* In ''Penguins of Madagascar'' Skipper mentioned that Hans the Puffin framed him for something in Denmark and now he is banished from the country. Considering how Denmark is in Europe (Well, Scandanavia) and the movie is now borrowing stuff from the TV show (Rico can throw up larger items and more easily, Skipper's personality has been changed to the TV show one) and Skipper on the TV show has shown at least once that he knows about the movies (Despite existing in a different continuity, Skipper hallucinated Alex who retained most of his movie personality and blatantly referenced the movies) so Denmark may be carried over too.

The Circus will arrive in Denmark, after Skipper warns them he can't enter, and once they cross over Skipper is targeted by the Police. Rico gets captured in his stead, tortured, and we get the scar, show off the Penguins awesomeness when they rescue him, and set up Animal Control realizing that the Animals are at the Circus.

We have three teams by the time Madagascar 3 rolls around.

Team Penguin (Leader: Skipper) They work together, understand their strengths and weaknesses, and get stuff done. Skipper may be a bit crazy, but he is very competent and Heaven help you if you hurt his team.

Team Lemur (Leader: Julian) While he wants attention, he tends to stay out of the way. they survive, but don't thrive.

Team Mammal (Leader: Alex?) One of the clips released showed the Mammals arguing over who was their leader. Alex claimed it was him, but the others wanted their own chance. Since they are disorganized (compared to the Lemurs and Penguins) they're going to have trouble keeping everything together until they work out who is their leader and work through their problems.

* Not really. Skipper does get stuff done, and remains the competent one they all have to depend on, but Julien just wanders off and does his own thing with Sonya while the conflict over the mammals' leadership is settled fairly quickly with Alex calling the shots for the rest of the movie. No real evaluation goes on, though Alex does prove in the end why he is the KingOfBeasts.

* In the past few years, Creator/DreamWorksAnimation films, particularly the sequels, have had darker moments and storylines. Thus, it's very possible that the third movie in this franchise will be the same way.
** The trailer shows that the villaness has a mounted puppy head on her wall.
** Possibly jossed, outside of that and the Tiger's backstory its not really dark or edgy.
** Completely {{Jossed}} actually, as aside from Vitaly's backstory the movie is pretty much nonstop action, humor, heartwarming, and entertainment. Even [=DuBois=] is more comic relief (and a WorthyOpponent) than she is dark.

* Think about it. He's already flamboyant enough for it, and he seems to care mainly about Marty, not so much the others. Also it would be about time a mainstream movie did this.
** Oh, come on - it's a ''kid's movie''. They have trouble featuring lasting romances between heterosexual couples, let alone homosexual couples.

*** Again, just because he's set up with her doesn't mean he can't be bi. Or it could be a case of IfItsYouItsOkay with Marty. And with all the ShipTeasing and UnresolvedSexualTension it isn't even clear Alex and Gia will really get together.

They would have been pretty old by #2, and the beginning of #3 does highlight that time has passed since, so it's not implausible.
