Moved character-based tropes into the character tab (in case they were already there, I made sure to preserve whichever writeup had the most context)

* AbhorrentAdmirer: Telma is this for Renado. After helping Link and Ilia get Prince Ralis to Kakariko Village for Renado to treat medically, she soon starts flirting with Renado after first meeting him. She eventually returns to Hyrule Castle Town, and when a later quest requires Link to deliver a letter from Renado to Telma, Renado admits that he really can't stand her.

* AmbiguouslyBrown: Telma is obviously black, but she bares a heavy resemblance to the Gerudo race. The problem is that most Gerudo have fled by the events of this game, though they come back in [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaFourSwordsAdventures the next]] [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaBreathOfTheWild two games]] in the timeline. So, does Telma have Gerudo in her blood or is she just a Gerudo-looking Hylian?

* ArtisticAge: Shad, who looks and acts like someone in his late 20s ''minimum'', is apparently the same age as Link... which is 17.

* BeetleManiac: Agitha, who plays at being a princess hosting a ball for insects. She is willing to pay handsomely for any new bug Link brings her.

* {{Bishonen}}: Link keeps most of his predecessor's pretty boy look from ''Ocarina of Time''.

* {{Bokukko}}: It's explained that Ashei was raised by her widowed father, an exiled knight, who basically treated her as a boy. She's a really good warrior, and cute with a nice figure, but doesn't know much about social niceties and is a little self-conscious about it.

* BraidsOfAction:
** Ashei, the lady knight, wears her glossy black hair tied in two braids.
** Princess Zelda wears one long braid in the back and has a slim braid on either side of her face. She does get in on the action as part of the endgame.
* BrainyBrunette: Princess Zelda, in her only remotely brunette incarnation. She is noted by her former tutor to have been an excellent student. She's also the chosen disciple of the Goddess of Wisdom, so it's only logical.

* CheerfulChild: Agitha is a young, energetic girl who rarely loses her joyful mood ("rarely" because Link ''can'' upset her if he leaves her house-sized castle without giving her a Golden Bug he still has).

* ChildhoodFriends: Link grew up in Ordon Village with Mayor Bo's daughter, [[DoesNotLikeShoes Ilia]], and they're [[ImpliedLoveInterest heavily implied to have feelings for each other.]]

* AChildShallLeadThem: The Zora child Prince Ralis becomes ruler of the Zora after the premature deaths of his parents.

* CleavageWindow: Iza's small halter top like shirt has two fastened buttons that still leave a huge hole between buttons, revealing her clevage. Her brother Coro also wears the same kind of shirt that also shows off a hole in his chest.

* ClothingAppendage: Queen Rutela of the [[FishPeople Zora]] has a long and elaborate skirt that seems to be made up of leg fins. Queen Oren from ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaALinkBetweenWorlds'' would later show the same feature.
* CloudCuckooLander:
** Agitha, the bug-loving "princess" in Hyrule Castle Town. She's also one of the few people not scared of Wolf Link; for her, it's because she simply sees him as an oversized puppy dog.
--->'''Agitha''': Li'l snail, li'l snail, just once I'd like to take a bath in that slime.
** In a more literal example, Ooccoo, and by extension her son, Ooccoo Jr. [[spoiler:Both of them are from the [[FloatingContinent City in the Sky,]] and given this, it explains why they tend to act more than a little strange compared to everyone else whenever you meet them.]]
%%* CollaredByFashion: Shad.

* CoolLoser: Shad. He's just as handsome as Link is, and comments about how he's more suited for bookish tasks than combat, but he's still part of the group storming the Hyrule Castle grounds at the end of the game.

* CrazyCatLady: Impaz isn't crazy, but she's the only human citizen in an abandoned ghost town otherwise populated by 20 cats.

* CreepyChild: The Skull Kid not only acts creepy, his face looks like the moon from ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaMajorasMask'' crossed with Barrel from ''WesternAnimation/TheNightmareBeforeChristmas''.

* CuteLittleFangs: Midna has a small fang visible when her mouth is either open or closed.

* DeadpanSnarker:
** Midna. "This village is full of idiots."
** Also Malo. "Time is money, stop wasting both." "I suppose I could part with it."
** The STAR Game's owner in Hyrule Castle Town Market. He attempts to act cool towards Link when they speak in person, but when he ''thinks'' no one is listening, he softly speaks to himself rudely about him.

* DegradedBoss: The City in the Sky features a fight with an Aeralfos, a winged reptilian creature that uses a sword, shield, and a suit of armor. Later in the dungeon, you're faced with ''two'' of them at once and the [[BonusDungeon Cave of Ordeals]] features scores of such creatures; one is fought as an enemy in Hyrule Castle as well. Darknuts switch from miniboss (Temple of Time), to enemy (Cave of Ordeals), then miniboss (Hyrule Castle at the mid), and enemy yet again (Hyrule Castle at the end).

* DiedStandingUp: At the end of the FinalBoss battle, Ganondorf is left lying on the ground when you finish him, but in the cutscene, he's standing, meaning he didn't just die on his back, he ''stood back up'' after you ran him through.

* DoesNotLikeShoes: Ilia is barefoot whenever she appears.

* TheDragon: King Bulblin's evil actions respond to Zant's plans to overrun Hyrule, [[spoiler:though he later helps Link after being beaten four times, choosing to side with the strongest]]. [[spoiler:Zant in turn responds to Ganondorf's plans to take revenge from the Light World for his imprisonment in the Twilight Realm.]]

In turn, [[spoiler:Zant in turn responds to Ganondorf's plans to take revenge from the Light World for his imprisonment in the Twilight Realm.]]

* DrowningMySorrows: After you complete his quest and leave his house, you can come back and find him missing. He's gone to the local tavern and is seated at the bar, crying his eyes out because his girlfriend is seeing someone else.

* ElegantGothicLolita: Agitha is dressed this way, and the clothes are decorated with figures of butterflies to denote her apparent status as the "princess of the Insect Kingdom". In ''VideoGame/HyruleWarriors'', Agitha's alternate costume from the "Master Quest" map, which trades out her bright colors for black and blue to match her Level 2 weapon. The "Twilight Princess" map gives her a pink version instead, to go along with her Level 3 weapon.

* FallenPrincess: [[spoiler:Midna. Not only is she the princess of the Twilight Realm, Zant seized power and cursed her with an imp's form, leading to Midna's fall from grace and a struggle to regain what she once had.]]

* FarmBoy: Link was a goatherd before he was pulled into a world of Triforces, shadow demons, and the never-ending battle of good vs. evil.
* FarmersDaughter: Ilia is a straighter example, in that she has a simple [[GirlNextDoor "downhome" look]], has a strong affinity for nature, and is [[DoesNotLikeShoes always barefoot.]] Though she also [[{{subverted}} subverts]] the trope, since she's actually the Mayor's daughter.

* FriendToAllLivingThings: Ilia, despite being the Mayor's daughter, [[NatureLover spends more of her time in the surrounding forest]], rather than Ordon Village. She's portrayed as selfless and giving: from tending to Link's horse (Epona) for him, to saving Prince Ralis when she found him collapsed in the road leading to Hyrule Castle Town.
* FriendToBugs: [[ElegantGothicLolita Agitha]], the self appointed princess of the "Insect Kingdom". If the player chooses, Link can embark on a side quest to find [[FetchQuest the 24 golden bugs for Agitha's ball]]. She squees over each one you bring to her and rewards you accordingly. She rewards you for the first bug by giving you the Adult's Wallet, which allows you to carry up to 600 rupees. For every bug after that, she bestows you with 50 rupees as, "compensation for your efforts" and 100 for each matched pair. The final reward, for successfully escorting all 24 to her castle, is the Giant's Wallet, which can hold 1000 rupees, after which, you are made an "honorary member" of her kingdom. If you try to leave her "castle" without giving her all the bugs you're carrying (perhaps because you've got no more room in your wallet) she'll menacingly growl, "I know you have bugs" as you go.
* FromNobodyToNightmare: Before [[spoiler:gaining Ganondorf's powers of darkness]], Zant was a regular member of the Twili race, occupying some unspecified rank within the ruling hierarchy in the Twilight realm. [[spoiler:Given that he feels he had a legitimate claim to the throne and can't understand why he was passed over in favor of Midna, he must have held ''some'' role of importance.]]

* FunnyAfro: [[SharedFamilyQuirks Siblings]] Iza and Coro rock positively ''epic'' 'fros almost as large as they are. Coro has a ''bird's nest'' in his hair, and [[UncattyResemblance his pet bird Trill has an afro too]].

* GracefulLadiesLikePurple: Zelda's dress is largely purple in this game, instead of its usual [[PrincessesPreferPink pink]].

* TheGreatSerpent: A rare benevolent example: Lanayru, one of the Spirits of Light whom took on the form of a serpent, is a benign spirit that warns Link of the dark power.

* HartmanHips: Midna has pretty wide hips [[spoiler:although not as pronounced in her true form]].

* TheHighQueen: Zelda may fit this trope in this game better than any other adaptation. For bonus points [[AllThereInTheManual according to official sources]], she's also a queen-in-waiting. Zant's invasion interrupted her coronation.

* HopelessBossFight: This appears to be the case at the beginning of the second half of the Diababa fight. When the 3rd head emerges, it sinks the bomb plants, making it impossible for you to damage it. You have to basically fend off its attacks for a minute before the now-good miniboss swoops in to help by bringing bombs.

* IFightForTheStrongestSide: After losing several matches against Link, during the final dungeon, King Bulblin finally declares a draw and just hands over a key to proceed before citing this trope and running off.

* InstantExpert: Link's mastery of the sword is {{justified|Trope}}, given that his father figure is a MasterSwordsman. Not so much with the rest of his arsenal. {{Lampshaded}} when Malo challenges his skills with the bow, stating that "I've never seen you so much as ''hold'' a bow back in Ordon..."

* JackassGenie: Jovani was a poor man who [[DealWithTheDevil sold his soul to the Poes for immeasurable wealth]]. * KidHero: Link's timid little friend Colin gets to be one of these when he saves one of the other children from being mowed down by a monster. [[spoiler:He can be seen with a wooden sword and shield on his back during the end credits.]]

* KneelBeforeFrodo: In the final battle, Princess Zelda turns to Link, as simple goat herder, and bows to him as she asks him to save her kingdom.

* LadyOfWar: Princess Zelda in the battle on horseback toward the end where she wields the Light Arrows.

* LastOfHisKind: Impaz is stated to be the last survivor of the Hidden Village and named after its original founder. Considering the Hidden Village is implied to be an older version of Kakariko Village, which was founded by Impa, it's implied that Impaz is similarly meant to be the last Sheikah. This is later shown not to be the case in ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaBreathOfTheWild'', where the Sheikah are a thriving society of many individuals.

* LethalChef: Eating Coro the lantern-oil man's soup actually damages Link's health (usually; sometimes it will heal him a tiny bit).

* MadameFortune: The FortuneTeller that can foresee Link's next tasks and Piece of Hearts locations is named Madame Fanadi.

** [[spoiler:Ganondorf. You expel him from Zelda? Good, but then he transforms into his beastly Ganon form. He becomes humanoid again, only this time on a [[CoolHorse demon horse]]. But even after various slashes and Light Arrow shots, plus receiving a SwordPlant in the chest during a swordfight, he's still able to stand up. Only when the Triforce of Power abandons him does he finally die.]]

** Rusl acts as this for Link. Supplemental material states that he considers Link to be his younger brother. Rusl shows equal bravery in defending his own family -- he's willing to fight off a wolf to protect them despite being badly injured (keep in mind he has no way of knowing who the wolf really is).
** Link, in his turn, acts as this for the village children. Kidnapping or otherwise harming them will lead to you having a severely ''pissed'' Link coming after you.

* PimpedOutDress: Zelda has her standard fancy dress with the gold trimmings, and Agitha wears a fancy dress with cute insect trimmings.

* PrecociousCrush: Beth, from Ordon Village, has a pretty obvious crush on Link at the start of the game. Humorously, she later switches her affections to Colin after he saves her life.

* PrettyInMink: Iza is not comfortable with the cold surrounding Lake Hylia and the Zora falls. This trope comes in when she says she misses her fur coat.

* PrincessClassic: Agitha acts like this, especially how she gushes and giggles over the golden bugs you bring to the ball she is holding.
* PrincessesRule: Zelda, although [[AllThereInTheManual apparently]] she was about to be crowned queen before everything went bad. Also [[spoiler:Midna, the eponymous Twilight Princess, whose lack of queenship is not addressed]].
* PrincessProtagonist: Midna, the princess of the Twilight Realm trying to reclaim her throne, is the SupportingProtagonist to Link's [[TheHero Hero]] [[TheChosenOne Chosen by the Gods]].

* RaisedByDudes: Ashei's backstory, given briefly by her fellow Resistance members, and acknowledged even more briefly by herself when she says that this is the reason she may seem a bit rough around the edges.

* RedundantResearcher: Poor Shad. He makes it his life's work to find the Sky City, and Link just swoops in, uses magic tech from the past to find all the runes Shad couldn't, teleports the Sky Cannon away to get it fixed, and explores the city himself.

* SmartPeopleWearGlasses: Shad wears glasses and helps discover vital areas and items for Link.

* SpoiledSweet: [[CloudCuckooLander Agitha, Princess of Bugs]]. She's got a lavish house and ImpossiblyCoolClothes, no responsibilities, and spends Rupees like water -- but she rewards Link with Rupees for the simple task of bringing her golden bugs, her dear little friends, and appears to not have a malicious bone in her body.

* SupremeChef: Yeto makes some great soup. When complete, it heals as many of Link's hearts as a red potion!

* {{Tsundere}}:
** Plumm the bird is cemented with the cliché {{Tsundere}} line when she gives Wolf Link a Piece Of Heart for breaking the high score of 10,000 points in her minigame.
** Initially, Midna acts like she doesn't care in the least about Link or the world he is living in. But after an incident with Zant that almost kills her, she changes her mind and gradually develops a trust towards him.
** Ilia is a Dere variation. She is gentle and cheerful towards Link and her father, but upon provocation she gets very angry.

* UnskilledButStrong: [[spoiler:Zant. He's very strong due to the power granted to him by Ganondorf, but he's completely reliant on his magic and has no actual fighting skill -- his fighting style consists more of wild flailing.]]

*** The Bomblings. What they work best for (hitting far away or otherwise hard to reach targets) could be handled much more easily and quickly by just combining regular bombs with arrows for exploding arrows.
*** The Dominion Rod is the most useless of the dungeon items. It is only used in the Temple of Time and is used for exactly one more thing afterwards (after going through a long quest to get the thing working outside the Temple of Time). However, when it is used, it can pack some serious damage to enemies thanks to the living Armos, but it only really works inside the Temple of Time because the statues outside of it cannot attack.

Grammar fix. Also, What The Hell Hero applies when the hero gets called out for acting in a morally questionable or borderline villainous manner, not for acting rashly or like a jerk.

* WhamEpisode: The game has an extra dose of shock just when you think the series is getting predictable. It's more of a surprise in how it came about rather than its presence, because everyone knows ''Zelda'' games have more than three dungeons! Not 60 seconds after you collect the final Fused Shadow, Zant appears, [[CurbStompBattle curbstomps Link and Lanayru]], takes the Fused Shadows, curses Link to so that he's permanently stuck as a wolf, AND gravely injures Midna. On top of that, taking Midna to Princess Zelda to heal her results in Zelda giving up her body (and apparently her life) in a HeroicSacrifice without Midna's consent. Now yu set out to find the series' favorite DeusExMachina, the Master Sword, in order to lift your curse!

Just adding this last one, so I can fully clean up my sandbox. But after this, the page has to be split (I already brought it up in the appropiate thread, but I haven't received a reply yet)

Massive example crosswicking. Hopefully the page won't reach the size limit afterwards. I also removed Gaiden Game, because that trope pertains to Link's Crossbow Training, where this example is already listed

* TwentyBearAsses: Link is rewarded with a bottle of Fairy Tears for collecting 20 Poe Souls. These not only refill his health completely, but they increase his attack power temporarily as well, only for 10 seconds at best.

* BlowYouAway: The Gale Boomerang is used to blow (mostly) pinwheels for various effects, as well as tiles and leaves to unveil secrets in the ground.

* BugCatching: There are 24 golden bugs that can be caught and given to a little girl named Agitha in exchange for Rupees and a wallet upgrade.

* ChildhoodFriendRomance: Link grew up together with Mayor Bo's daughter, [[DoesNotLikeShoes Ilia.]] The game does everything short of outright stating they're couple, [[EveryoneCanSeeIt as several characters make note of how close they are]] and, late in the game, there's [[SidequestSidestory a sidequest]] dedicated to restoring Ilia's lost memories. At the end of which, Cor Goron and the others [[LeaveTheTwoLoveBirdsAlone give them a moment alone.]] After giving Link the Horse Call, she urges him on his quest and tells him that whenever he finally returns to Ordon Village, [[IWillWaitForYou she'll be waiting for him.]]

* CollectionSidequest: The Poe Souls and golden bugs. The former are necessary to restore Jovani's body to normal, while the latter have to be delivered to Agitha to receive money rewards. Both characters await you in Hyrule Castle Town.

* CrosshairAware:
** The Deku Toad, MiniBoss of Lakebed Temple, uses the "shadow that tells you where it's going to land" variation. Hopefully, it misses by at least a tad[[note]][[JustForPun pole]][[/note]].
** Blizzeta, the boss of Snowpeak Ruins, relies on the player using the reflection in the ice floor Link is running on.

* DoubleMeaningTitle: The title can refer to both Zelda, the princess of a realm which has been overtaken by Twilight, and [[spoiler:Midna, whose actual royal title ''is'' Twilight Princess]].

* EldritchAbomination:
** The Arbiter's Grounds happens to be home to a being named Death Sword. It starts out as a giant sword in the middle of an otherwise empty room embedded in the floor being held down by ropes covered in sealing charms. This means that whatever this thing is, it is so dangerous that the light spirits couldn't kill it or banish it and had to bind it in one spot. Upon being disturbed the blade pulls free, its owner completely invisible to the human eye unless it chooses to be seen, but the enhanced senses of a wolf reveal it to be a horrific horned demon-like creature with a row of fangs and glowing red eyes, that screams noise of a hundred damned souls, and has horribly emaciated flesh. It holds its head at an angle like its neck can't support its weight or has been broken yet its not a ghost as shown by its otherwise physical form. No explanation for what this thing is, why it's here, or what it did to end up imprisoned has ever been given and it's bizarre abilities don't even resemble anything in Hyrule. The most haunting thing about this being is when you win the fight, rather than exploding into a puff of evil then dispersing, it turns into a cloud of blackness which flys up towards the ceiling into the dark. Given this is completely at odds with how evil creatures die throughout the rest of the Legend of Zelda series this suggests it is not actually be dead and might not actually be able to die.
** Midna takes a bizarre and all immensely powerful form when using the fused shadow. The helmet turns her into a multi-armed trident wielding creature, somewhat larger than Ganon. The impression given when speaking to the spirit Lanayru is that the fused shadow is capable of breaking reality and the last time it was used he and the other spirits had to intervene and break it to prevent it's users in controlling the Triforce through its power.

* FirstTown: Ordon Village is a sleepy ranch town south of the Faron province.

* ForDoomTheBellTolls: Blizzeta's first boss music, which then goes into OminousPipeOrgan territory with its second version.

* GaidenGame: ''VideoGame/LinksCrossbowTraining'' takes place in the world of this game, with many of the same settings and enemies.

to:

* GaidenGame: ''VideoGame/LinksCrossbowTraining'' takes place in FutileHandReach: During the world of this game, with many of the same settings FinalBoss battle, Link tries to reach out for Midna, who prepares to sacrifice herself to take out Ganon. She warps him and enemies.Zelda to safety before he can get to her.

* InexplicableTreasureChests:
** In the Temple of Time ruins, a large treasure chest is seen open and (worse yet) empty. That's because [[spoiler:you find it [[StableTimeLoop in the past.]] It has a Piece of Heart inside.]]
** Near the beginning of the game, Rusl leaves you a Wooden Sword. In a chest. Logically, this means that either he lugged a chest up a ladder and into your house, or the chest belongs to you in the first place, and he just put the sword inside and closed the lid.

* JapaneseBeetleBrothers: Among the bugs you can catch, there are the Kabuto (referred to simply as a Beetle) and the Stag Beetle, putting it into coincidental.

* LadyAndKnight: Compared to previous games, Link is the knight to a princess other than Zelda ([[spoiler:Midna]] who's closer to Dark Lady, at least at first), who even lampshades it once. Also an example of RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething, as she is a very competent Dark Lady.

* LocalHangout: Telma's Bar, located in Hyrule Castle Town, is a pub where The Resistance hangs out and plans. During the second half of the game, it's there where Link can get hints on where to go next when looking for the fragments of the Mirror of Twilight.

* MeaningfulName: Midna (phonetically based on ''midnight''), who's obviously associated with darkness and shadow ([[DarkIsNotEvil but is a deuteragonist]]).

* NonLethalBottomlessPits: There are non-lethal lethal poisonous swamp gas, as well as pits and lava. It's especially odd considering that Midna's dialogue early in the Goron Mines implies that lava will [[OneHitKill kill you instantly.]] Interestingly, if you're wearing the Zora Armor or the Iron Boots, lava ''will'' cause an instant GameOver. Why you'd be wearing that in a place with lava is anyone's guess, but there you go.

* NPCRoadblock: The "line of [=NPCs=]" variety gets its use when a strangely cohesive queue for water blocks South Hyrule Field during the period when Castle Town is shrouded in twilight.

* OminousLatinChanting:
** The boss theme of Beast Ganon features chanting in form of "Enyaaa" all the time.
** The intro music has Gregorian-type chanting.

* TheOverworld: The game features the a large, detailed overworld; featuring varied terrain, scores of enemies, and secret grottos. In fact, it's so massive that the game gives you Epona early on; otherwise, getting around can take a while.

* ThePowerOfHate: Ganondorf states that he regained his power by feeding on the hatred of the Twili, implying that he bonded with Zant to feed on his hatred for the world.

* {{Precursors}}: The Oocca are suggested to be the Precursors of the Hylians -- as one AdventurerArchaeologist tells us, the goddesses may have made the Oocca first, then the Oocca made the Hylians before retreating to the City in the Sky. This is a slightly inaccurate interpretation in the English version: The Japanese text states they helped the Hylians create a society, rather than literally creating them.

* PrincessProtagonist: Midna, the princess of the Twilight Realm trying to reclaim her throne, is the SupportingProtagonist to Link's [[TheHero Hero]] [[TheChosenOne Chosen by the Gods]].

* ProportionatelyPonderousParasites: The first boss is a Deku Baba mutated until its mouth can easily swallow you whole, leeching off a particularly gigantic tree.

* PurpleIsPowerful: Zelda mixes this trope with GracefulLadiesLikePurple, as the bodice of her distinctive gown is a rich purple color. This particular incarnation of Zelda is a bit older than some of the others, and is shown to have unusual powers.

* RoaringRampageOfRescue: Link does this repeatedly - first to save the children kidnapped from his home village, then later to save [[spoiler:the dying Midna]], then later still to save [[spoiler:the possessed Zelda]].

* SpoilerCover: Both the American and Japanese covers of the UsefulNotes/WiiU remaster of ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaTwilightPrincess'' shows both [[spoiler:[[HijackedByGanon Ganondorf, who hijacks Zant toward the end,]]]] and [[spoiler:Midna's true form]] (the latter was also on promotional art for the original release).

* SuitUpOfDestiny: Like in ''[[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaTheWindWaker Wind Waker]]'', Link begins the game without his trademark green tunic and hat. When he returns to his human form for the first time, he is revealed to be the ChosenOne and gets a MundaneMadeAwesome Moment when he is shown in the Hero's Clothes.

Link begins the game without his trademark is ''not'' welcome most places. Even assuming that people aren't scared of normal wolves, Link's green tunic fur, the triforce markings on his head, and hat. When he returns rough hairstyle makes Talo call him out as a monster and everyone in Kakariko run and hide indoors, Rusl will flat out attack him and being Wolf Form in Hyrule Castle town results in being surrounded by guards (though they'll never hurt you, Zant's takeover apparently only left the cowards). The only normal people who want anything to do with Wolf Link is CloudCuckooLander Agatha, a NatureLover living in Faron woods, Gorons who probably don't have anything to fear from Wolves, and [[AnimalTalk other animals]].
** Unlike past [[ExpositionFairy companions]], Link is at first immensely distrustful of Midna, having been grabbed by something that looks similar to her and transformed into an entirely different creature. He starts growling at her both when she first approaches him and when she breaks him free and jumps on top of him to use him as a mount, snarking and mocking
his human form for predicament all the while. It's not until after the first time, dungeon that he is revealed seems to be start adjusting to her presence, and not until [[spoiler: she almost dies]] that he starts to consider her a genuine friend.
** On
the ChosenOne way to the second dungeon, Link has to contend with hostile Gorons who want to keep him off their mountain [[spoiler: because a Fused Shadow has turned their chieftain into a monster]]. Gorons are literal living boulders and gets a MundaneMadeAwesome Moment when he is shown in can roll into Link at the Hero's Clothes.speed of a car, it doesn't matter how many times it's attempted, he can't muscle past them until he goes to find out how Mayor Bo did it (by cheating with the iron boots). Even after getting the boots, Link has to challenge their elder to a Sumo match to get into the dungeon, and even with the boots it's still entirely possible to lose to the absolutely ancient and obviously atrophied-with-age Goron.

Added DiffLines:

* ThemeMusicWithholding: The game offers a small sample of it in the overworld theme, then interweaves it with the main ''Twilight Princess'' theme in a brief jingle after Link [[LegacyOfTheChosen inherits]] the [[SwordOfPlotAdvancement Master Sword]]. A triumphant, full reprisal of it later appears in the end credits.

Added DiffLines:

* TheThreeTrials: Instead of an intended test, Midna instructs Link to collect the three Fused Shadows, which were placed by Zant in dungeons and entrusted to monstrous creatures, so in practice it works the same way as in other ''Zelda'' games.

Added DiffLines:

* UnnecessaryCombatRoll: If you press B while rolling with your sword out, you roll into a stab. One of the Hidden Skills taught by the Shade actually has you roll around the target before jumping up and slashing him from behind.

Added DiffLines:

* VideoGameCrueltyPunishment: There's a stand in Faron Woods with jugs to fill your potions and you choose how many rupees to put into the box. If you give less than what they cost, such as only one, the bird will simply berate you but give none and the bird will attack you when you return. Conversely, you can actually pay ''more'' than what an item is worth, or even for nothing at all, though all you get for doing that is [[VideoGameCaringPotential some warm gratitude from a hard-working bird]].

Added DiffLines:

* WaterGeyserVolley: There's a slightly more realistic version than usual where the geyser holds up a bridge instead of Link himself. There are also several geysers in Death Mountain that hurt you if you're near them.
