* HeadSwap: All six of the pirates that you swordfight on the high seas leading up to Captain Rottingham share the same body. This can be hard to notice given how well it's disguised: in addition to having unique heads and color palettes as one would expect from a typical head swap, they also have three different top options and two footwear options.

* HollywoodDensity: Nobody seems to have much trouble moving around a solid gold, life-size statue of an adult woman, which would weigh about a metric tonne[[note]]using a little back-of-the-treasure-map math: humans are roughly the same weight per litre as water, gold is about twenty times as heavy as water, assume Elaine is a petite 50 kilograms and thus has a volume of 50 litres.[[/note]].

** The dueling pirates in Chapter 3 will give the same incorrect responses as the choices in the first game if they don't know an answer to an insult ("I am rubber, you are Glue", "I'm Shaking, I'm Shaking" and "Oh Yeah?") even though [[NewRulesAsThePlotDemands the rules say that you have to rhyme insults and comebacks when at sea]].

* SortingAlgorithmOfEvil: During the Insult Swordfight part. You'll first be up against the Really Not Fearsome Pirates and run into gradually more formidable opponents, until taking on Captain Rottingham himself. You ''can'' technically take on Rottingham at any time, but without having upgraded your weapons or learned a repertoire of insults, you're pretty much guaranteed a spanking.

** Wally's fate. This trope ''may'' have been invoked intentionally, since Guybrush makes a point of saying that he needs to save Wally and all of the monkey slaves, but then the theme park explodes. It's hard to say though, because other stuff was clearly cut due to ExecutiveMeddling. Guess [=LucasArts=] didn't as feel guilty about killing him off this time around. It took over ''twenty five years'' in teral time and three more games to find out that Wally actually survived.

** There are several moments where a certain item ''could'' logically be the solution to a puzzle, but isn't [[{{Railroading}} because the plot says so]]. In those moments, Guybrush usually has a convenient explanation for why that particular solution won't work. One example:

* DevelopersForesight: If you talk to Slappy Cromwell before his performance, he will explain his connection to Blood Island and give you the name of his agent. If you do not talk to him before the performance, he will leave a note on the door with the information you need.
** The hair comb in the Barbery Coast barber shop cannot be picked up no matter what, because Haggis stops Guybrush from picking it up. However, the game has unique lines of dialogue from Van Helgen to stop Guybrush from taking the comb if Haggis has left the barber shop, and unique lines of dialogue from Cutthroat Bill if both Haggis and Van Helgen have left. Even if the player triggers events that cause Haggis and Van Helgen to leave the barber shop and pushes the jawbreaker down Cutthroat Bill's throat and then tries to take the comb, Cutthroat Bill will motion angrily towards Guybrush and Guybrush will say something along the lines of "I think he doesn't want me to take the comb."

* AccentAdaptation: In the Italian dub of the game, Haggis (while still being referred to as Scottish) speaks in a noticeable Neapolitan accent, unique since everyone else either speaks normal Italian or uses foreign accents (Rottingham and Domingo). Furthermore, all instances of "Aye" have been translated with "Ayò!", a typical sardinian exclamation.
