Gameplay is similar to ''VideoGame/XMenMutantApocalypse'', also by Capcom. You can choose among ComicBook/CaptainAmerica, Franchise/SpiderMan, ComicBook/{{Wolve|rine}}[[ComicBook/XMen rine]] (Returning from ''X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse''), ComicBook/IronMan, or [[ComicBook/TheIncredibleHulk Hulk]], each with their own set of moves. As you find the Gems, you can choose to take one to the battle, each one with their unique properties. Each character has also a Special Gem Attack which allow the player to clear the screen of enemies, or deal tons of damage to the stronger baddies.
