Turns out that Mario Teaches Typing is actually Martinet's first video game appearance as Mario, predating this game by three years.

Notable for being the first video game to feature Creator/CharlesMartinet as Mario (though he had originated the voice in other mediums prior to the release of this game, such as various video game trade shows and the Pinball/SuperMarioBrosMushroomWorld and Pinball/SuperMarioBros pinball table).

* WritingAroundTrademarks: Yacht is obviously Yahtzee, just renamed because it's the only game included to be trademarked. Mario even calls the game "Yacht-ee" hiding the trademark violation behind Charles Martinet's faux Italian accent.

FUNdamentals is a Windows 3.1 port, as it can't run under DOS

Mario's Game Gallery is an MS-DOS, Windows 3.1, and Macintosh game released by Interplay in 1995. As the name suggests, it's a compilation of games you play with Mario. There's five to choose from: Checkers, Go Fish, Dominos, Backgammon and Yacht.

In 1997, the game was re-released as "Mario's [=FUNdementals=]" under Interplay's "Brainstorm" division.

The Windows 3.1 version is way older than that. I have a copy with the original title that has it, and the fact it runs in 512x384 resolution also implies it's actually a port of the Macintosh version.

Absolutely not an example of this. This is an actual strategy used by real players too; the idea is that if your opponent eventually draws the card, you will get it from his hand before he can do anything with it, and the opponent won't know what other cards you have either which can greatly work to your benefit. It has varying degrees of effectiveness, but to call it "stupid" is just silly.

* ArtificialStupidity: In Go Fish, Mario may repeatedly ask for the same card two times in a row that you don't have.

A lot of this is misunderstanding what Mario's saying and, there's a lot of misinterpreting the "-a" stuck onto words as things other than just an extra sound. So major clean up
