* GainaxEnding: If you think about it, yes. Era 1 is the most accurate of the Eras (from a scientific point of view), but after that, things get... odd. Meanwhile Theory of Evolution has THIRTY NINE non standard game overs, each with their own narration and many with their own art for hitting dead end evolution paths.

The Bird evolution is the only other one to come close, but the Amphibian is capable of beating it out on speed even while having armored hide. In many ways, this is necessary to defeat Queen Bee.

A very unusual and highly obscure ActionRPG for the SNES, in which you play [[ArtisticLicenseBiology a creature which evolves]] in order to survive the dangerous prehistoric world and eventually to join Gaia, a personification of Earth, in Eden. However the evolutionary process has been disrupted, and it is slowly revealed that there is an overwhelming force behind this.

* DeathByGluttony[=/=]YetAnotherStupidDeath: One of the more hilarious ways to get a game over [[spoiler: is to willing drink from the Fountain of Evolution repeatedly, despite hearing all of the horror stories surrounding it.]] It nets you the slime ending and a {{Facepalm}} for the player.

* EvilLaugh: The BigBad does it a few times but a noteworthy one is when it's done so, as [[spoiler: meteors fall down on the Earth and she says, "Have you seen my power Gaia? [[NoOneCouldHaveSurvivedThat Life on this planet has ended!]]"]]
* EvolutionaryLevels: This game has an even less accurate take on evolution than its remake, which is saying something. It’s actually possible to evolve into a species, and then evolve again, back into the earlier species, but much stronger. Furthermore, the final evolution will always be humanoid regardless of the path taken to get there, though depending on your path you can be either real-world ape-descended humans or [[LizardFolk Dino-Sapians]] descended from dinosaurs.
* FamilyUnfriendlyDeath: Is seeing small dinosaurs being swallowed by carnivorous plants bad enough for you? How about seeing [[spoiler: dead dinosaurs with blood coming out of their eyes?]]

Some even appear later, claiming they have difficulty surviving.

* DifficultButAwesome: Dinosaurs, fittingly, have a lot of trouble with the Ice Age (though in this case, it's because they slip on the ice, not because it's too cold for them). However, they retain their EP from the Dinosaur Age (which are lost if you evolve into a mammal), and have a slight edge over mammals in [[MightyGlacier raw power and defense]], which can be helpful in the final age.
