* RelationshipVoiceActor: The studio that produced the English dub was apparently the same studio that dubbed the original seasons of Anime/PokemonTheSeries. It's odd to hear Nurse Joy recruiting the souls of the dead, with Brock as her childhood love interest, Jesse being one of her closest (if initially not particularly willing) allies, and Meowth as her creepy stalker. Ash also is a recruitable minor soldier who can turn into a dragon.

** Quite a characters have backstories that have never been elaborated on in any of the games, such as Frei and Lyseria. According to the developers, Lyseria was born around the creation of the world and at one point was even involved in Jayle's backstory, but this was never discussed in-game and Lyseria only ever appeared in the first game.

** Some characters, like Mystina and Lawfer, could be seen in the city of Dipan as Hrist's Einherjar during King Barbarossa's execution. However, only Arngrim takes a prominent role in the sequel and the other characters are nowhere to be seen, despite Dipan making a major appearance. Mystina would go on to make regular appearances in crossovers with other games, but most of the other characters weren't so lucky.

* WhatCouldHaveBeen: Gerald's conversation with his mother, Jessica, doesn't make much sense (he tells her that she looks like her mother). It hints that their relationship was different at some stage of development.

* SequelGap: Entries on the franchise are spread out to say the least. For context, the first game came around 1999-2000, the second game, Silmeria, came five to six years later, quickly followed by the PSP remake Lenneth and the DS Spin-off on the years 2006-2009. But afterwards? The large gap comes in, with VideoGame/ValkyrieProfileAnatomia releasing on 2016 for Japan only. The latter game was only ported for the English market 3 years later on 2019.

* FandomLifeCycle: Stages 2 --> 3 --> 6b --> 2 --> 6b --> 2. Ever since its conception, the Valkyrie Profile series is known to be one of the most popular works of Creator/TriAce, and is known by its fans for its deep yet complex storytelling. The first game's Ending A in fact, is so difficult to achieve that players had to come up with guides and walkthroughs to help other players, so one could say that it has a dedicated playerbase. However, the series mostly cycles back and forth between obscurity and some resurgence, mainly because of the rather large gaps between each installment's releases, especially the gap in TheNewTensThe first entry was on 1999-2000, the direct sequel, and a PSP remake to the first came on 2006-2007, the third game on the DS was on 2008-2009, while the gacha game Anatomia was released on 2016 in Japan, and 2019 for the rest of the world. As of 2016, the series has sold over 2.2 million copies.
