* StillbornFranchise: ''ARMS'' was clearly being set up to be a prospective major franchise for Nintendo like ''VideoGame/{{Splatoon}}'' before it, with the team behind ''VideoGame/MarioKart'' developing it, containing StoryBreadcrumbs and {{Sequel Hook}}s, and a planned graphic novel. Then it released to average reviews and over two million copies within its first year -- which ''VideoGame/Splatoon2'', released merely a month later, managed to reach in only three months. Nintendo thus decided to quietly pull the plug, cancelling the graphic novel and news pertaining to a potential sequel being non-existent. The most that has been done with ''ARMS'' since then was a SidelinedProtagonistCrossover in ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBrosUltimate''.

* IKnewIt:
** A small camp of the fandom proposed the idea that the fighters could switch between ARMS and regular arms when off the ring, which was [[https://twitter.com/ARMS_Cobutter/status/866987596127191040 confirmed in official art on Biff's twitter.]] Technically, those are just very compressed versions of the fighters' extendable ARMS power, but it's functionally identical.
** One person on the [[{{Fridge/ARMS}} Fridge page for the game]] figured that the [[MultiMookMelee 1-On-100 enemies]] were Helix prototypes before the game revealed it to be true.
** The teaser for Version 5.0. gave enough information, combined with the tweets about a "Doctor C." for people to guess that the fighter with Tesla coil ARMS was "Dr. Coil." Though they didn't predict it would be spelled "[[SpellMyNameWithAnS Coyle]]."

* DevelopmentHell: An ARMS graphic novel published by Creator/DarkHorseComics and written by Creator/IanFlynn was supposed to be released in the fall of 2018. Dark Horse even released a Free Comic Book Day prequel story to promote it. However, the release date was pushed to early 2019 before being delayed again with no explanation or new time frame for release.

* PresumedFlop: Because ''Arms'' didn't come close to the breakthrough success of ''Franchise/{{Splatoon}}'', many have made the assumption the game flopped hard. This isn't actually true; while not close to Splatoon's success, ''Arms'' has made a respectable amount of sales for a new franchise, sitting at 2.66 million units as of December 2021, according to the 2022 CESA Games White Papers.

* NamesTheSame:
** One of the bosses in ''Videogame/MegaMan7'' is named Spring Man, who even sports elastic, spring-like arms. [[https://twitter.com/MegaMan/status/868210141610508289 This hasn't gone unnoticed by Capcom]], [[https://twitter.com/MegaMan/status/875774995724726272 twice]].
** One pointed out by Masahiro Sakurai when he revealed Min Min in ''Super Smash Bros. Ultimate'' though in the WritingAroundTrademarks form of "Google searches for the character's name[[note]]In Japan only, which the subtitles fail to bring up. Google searches for the character's name in the West bring up the ''ARMS'' character.[[/note]] bring up a certain character from a certain manga instead"; one of the antagonists in ''Manga/{{Kinnikuman}}'' is also named "Springman."
